The "Pixel Experience" ROM is surprisingly not bad Posted: 02 Mar 2018 11:06 AM PST Clean 8.1 Android with frequent OTA (!) updates; no issues found on a Mi 6 whatsoever; however it's only been barely a day and I realize I may be in for some bad surprises. Tried it after yesterday's Xiaomi.eu weekly 8.3.1 which broke video cam for me (even on stock camera) and every other Google Cam with Camera2 API enabled. Never was a fan of MIUI either. Screenshots: https://i.imgur.com/kawtlpG.png https://i.imgur.com/JA0ecke.png Downloads: https://download.pixelexperience.org/ Supports all current (and some discontinued) Xiaomi phones but doesn't get enough deserved attention. Not affiliated. Installation is pretty much straightforward. Fire up TWRP, wipe everything you got, flash the .zip. I strongly believe that it's impossible to hard-brick a Mi6. Obviously backup whatever needs backing up. After installation, enable that Camera2 API and enjoy whatever Google Camera HDR works best for you. BSG's builds work just fine. E: Fast charging works, the flashlight works. Basically, I can't put a finger on what doesn't work. SOT is yet to be determined, but from what I experienced, doesn't seem like it's any different than Xiaomi.eu which I've been running for the past few months. E2: Wi-Fi doesn't immediately work after a reboot which is a bummer. You gotta turn it of and on. It's a matter of 2 seconds but it's there. Hope they'll fix it in the future, will report this behavior in their Github. For those worried about battery performance, I lost about 8% overnight which is okay in my book. [link] [comments]

Going from an Galaxy S4 to a Xiaomi Mi A1? Posted: 02 Mar 2018 03:36 PM PST Hello there, I own a Galaxy S4 that it's starting to show it's age.I looking to buy the Mi A1 as it looks pretty solid.Obviously it's gonna be a performance upgrade but will the camera be worse?I don't use the camera too much but i would appreciate it shooting comparable photos? Many thanks! [link] [comments]

Bricked my Redmi Note 4, Miflash won't work Posted: 02 Mar 2018 03:54 PM PST So I fucked up big time, flashed the wrong ROM and my new Note 4 bricked. Can't boot into fastboot or recovery, but the phone shows up in Device Manager as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008. The problem is when I try to flash the fastboot ROM in MiFlash, it displays error: The write timed out. I tried older versions of MiFlash, running as admin, rebooting, but no luck. Mi Max 2 really unstable since last update. Posted: 02 Mar 2018 11:14 AM PST My Mi Max 2 updated earlier this week and ever since it's been really unstable. My apps constantly hang and the phone regularly freezes for no apparent reason. It's still brand new and I got it in October, but it's now running worse than my original Mi Max. Are there known issues with the latest update (I don't even know where to begin to look) and if not, what steps can I take to troubleshoot or fix the phone? [link] [comments]
Never modded, would like to start Posted: 02 Mar 2018 02:47 PM PST I just saw how PixelExperience is working and i would really like to join the modding flashing it into my Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Global 4/64 (the One with the Snapdragon 625). The problem is i don't really know where to get the proper files. I requested the Unlock permission to Xiaomi and i'm waiting the response. I know how to unlock the phone, and i know i need a Recovery (TWRP) but i don't know which version i should use, i saw there's a version for Redmi Note 4 and one for Redmi Note 4X (wich i think is the right one but i'm not sure). Than i need the proper ROM and i don't know how many different versions are there and where to get the best one. I'm interested in the PixelExperience with Oreo 8.1 And before i do anything, should i wipe everything from the Phone or is it something that comes with the installation of the ROM? Is there any downside on using that ROM? Thank you guys for your patience, have a good night [link] [comments]
My take on xiaomi redmi note 4 MTK after about two weeks of having it Posted: 02 Mar 2018 10:01 AM PST I never had a good phone, as long as I can remember there were stutters, lag, waiting for something to load, battery drain, keyboard lag, exiting apps, potato camera and etc. Over the course of my life I had Sony Ericson t68i, Sony Ericson k200, Sony Ericson W200i and then android came in my life, Samsung Galaxy Ace which is a very weak phone and never could sustain me, after which huawei g620s came but it was also too weak for me. I was always doing something with the internet and websites so I needed something strong. I can honestly say that this is the best phone I ever had with zero performance issues, I mean this just swallows everything I throw its way. There is only one problem. It tends to get hot when charging and using at the same time but thats it. Camera is pretty good but only in daylight. Battery is amazing. [link] [comments]

What am I doing wrong? This is driving me crazy :/ [link] [comments]
Problem adding devices to Xiaomi gateway Posted: 02 Mar 2018 10:44 AM PST I've had a xiaomi gateway for a month or so, have 10 devices connected to it (aqara switches, motion sensors, door sensors, etc.) and it works fine/flawlessly. Just ordered some aqara switches and motion sensors (same as I had before.) Added the motion sensor, no problem. Tried adding the switch and door sensor and they don't connect. The blue light blinks three times as normal but then the 30s times up on the app and I get message "failed to add child device". Any trouble shooting suggestions? [link] [comments] |
