Not able to run the network analysis Netalyzr / JAVA Problems Posted: 20 Feb 2018 01:32 PM PST Hey, I'm having some problems regarding my connection and was asked from riot tech.support to run the network analysis Netalyzr (http://netalyzr.icsi.berkeley.edu/) I did it like 1 year ago and I know it's now only possible in Internet Explorer and Firefox but I'm not able to run it at all after hours of trying. I have JAVA updated and I got all JAVA plugins enabled in IE settings, still getting this error (https://i.imgur.com/8YxxXuk.jpg) Error does not say anything, please help! [link] [comments] |
Getting music from an iPhone onto a windows computer? Is it possible? Posted: 20 Feb 2018 07:15 PM PST Sadly, i have a windows computer, but an iPhone with 3000+ songs on it. Is there any extension or program i can use to be able to play these songs on my computer? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Feb 2018 07:56 PM PST The lack of privacy and most of all planned obsolescence is what drives me away. It's not the big things that are a problem, but the little things like all the audio driver issues (wut) and the tiny little things that make my computer (which is about 1.5 years old) run slower than the day it came out of the box. Meanwhile my sister's macbook runs better than mine after 4 years. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Feb 2018 12:07 PM PST I'm trying to use an old shitty windows laptop to simply hook to a wall mounted monitor/TV that shows 5-6 different cities 5 day forecasts at any given time. Any suggestions for sites or apps/widgets? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Feb 2018 04:38 PM PST I use SPDIF on my PC hooked up to my 5.1 surround speakers. When I'm in VLC Media Player, I use scroll wheel on mouse up and down and on screen i see the volume changes numbers but the actual sound you hear doesn't go quieter or louder and and when I use my normal keyboard functions to make sound louder and quieter, in VLC the video is the same volume. What's the fix please? [link] [comments] |
Can you check the battery charge % without unlocking the computer? Posted: 20 Feb 2018 12:37 PM PST I'm currently in another city than my computer and it was having a problem with the battery, it's been left at my mom's place and she got a new charger for it to see if that was the problem (it turned off one day and never turned back on), it was so long ago that it turned off that I have no memory of what I was doing when I turned it off, or if it actually turned off or if I just closed it and let it sleep. Apparently it's now working even disconnected from the charger(it started by only working when it was plugged into the charger, then it stopped turning on all together), anyway my question is whether or not she can check the battery % without unlocking it because I don't know if I'm signed into my skype and facebook messenger app there or if I had any webpages open that I would rather kill myself than have her see upon unlocking it. (She's asking me for the password to check and I can't check myself, but I thought I remembered being able to see the battery percentage and wifi information without actually unlocking it?) Posted: 20 Feb 2018 07:35 PM PST This may be the wrong sub to post this, but I have a network that has just been rebuilt. The company is running on their old network until I can ensure a smooth transition to my new network. I have configured all the switches and everything. On the older network, all devices are win7 and can ping each other. When connected to my new switches, host cannot ping each other that but my win10 laptop can be pinged by the win7 machines but not the other way around. Can someone say what's wrong ? Host can ping the switches and switches can ping the host. But the host cannot ping each other. Only host can ping my win10 laptop. 2 switches trunked. [link] [comments] |
Where on the disk are the Win10 Update backup files? Posted: 20 Feb 2018 07:08 AM PST Hey :) I've been trying to Google for this information with no success. There's plenty of articles telling you to do a Disk Cleanup, but I couldn't find any results which tell you where exactly are the update backups are, in the folder structure. I know that the initial updates are located here and you can safely clean those up... So, where are the windows backup files located on the disk? Thank you! [link] [comments] |
How to type Japanese/other language quotes without copying/pasting them? Posted: 20 Feb 2018 05:37 AM PST I mean the tall/narrow versions of these: « and ». Those are ALT+0171 and ALT+0187. I will use those, but they aren't actually the correct symbol. The correct symbol actually has a space in the direction the arrows point. It's weird. But anyway, those are quotation marks in some other languages (I think the French use them, too). Other than using them in context when discussing the Japanese playing cards (Weiß Schwarz) I have, some of which have them in the title, I think it would be cool to use them unironically in regular text. I don't know if they're Unicode or not or what. Here's what they actually look like: 《and 》. Had to go into my card list in Excel and copy a card name to get them. So they can be used in an English version of Windows in various programs (Chrome and Excel). I just can't figure out how to make them with a keyboard. [link] [comments] |
Need help with a problem on Windows Movie Maker Posted: 20 Feb 2018 06:29 AM PST So on the Windows 8.1 movie maker I was using MP4s and all of a sudden 2 of the clips have the green screen replacing the actual video. Is it possible to fix this? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Feb 2018 06:23 PM PST After upgrading to Win 10, I realized that my PC performs a power on self test every time it boots up. I also noticed that start-up is slower which I don't really mind since it runs fine afterward. When I had Win 8.1 POST checks occurred only when settings or hardware was messed with. Is this normal or should I keep an eye out on something? [link] [comments] |
Will a fresh install of windows fix this? Posted: 20 Feb 2018 06:14 PM PST About a month ago I posted this
It's infuriating when this happens, and it takes so long for the processes to stop hogging all the disk usage. I'm willing to take a Saturday and do a wipe of my computer if that's what it will take to get this to stop. Or is this bloatware/malware inherent to the wonderful OS that is windows? Posted: 20 Feb 2018 04:59 AM PST There are hundreds of updates ready, are they all necessary? Is automatic updating recommended? [link] [comments] |
Stop Program From Preventing Screensaver/Screen Dimming [Windows 7] Posted: 20 Feb 2018 07:12 AM PST It has been hard to find info about this online, as it looks like most are searching for the opposite, but I am having an issue with a program for an aquarium monitoring product, Seneye, preventing the screensaver from coming on, as well as preventing the power saving settings (like turning off the display after X minutes) from working. I want to run the software 24/7, since it monitors and logs temperature etc. in my aquarium through a monitor that hangs in the aquarium and is attached to the computer via USB. Any way to prevent this specific program from preventing the screensaver etc? I'm on Windows 7. [link] [comments] |

How to fully change Win10 language (w/o reinstalling)? Posted: 19 Feb 2018 10:25 PM PST Hi, I got a tablet running Windows 10 and it came in Spanish. I changed the language in control panel and 80-90% of it is now in English, but still sometimes I get screens in Spanish (for example the blue screen after updating, that I assume tells me I need to wait patiently. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Windows 10 Calendar App Multiple Reminders Posted: 19 Feb 2018 11:28 PM PST Guys, it's 2018. Is there any way to set multiple reminders? Or maybe there's another app on the market which can sync with Google Calendar and its multiple reminders? [link] [comments] |
