Posted: 07 Jan 2018 09:20 PM PST I was following steps to install LineageOS on my Nexus 7 tablet when the cord came unplugged in the middle of the process of unlocking my bootloader. The tablet seemed to work afterwards but when I try to boot into recovery mode I get the red triangle of death. This makes actually installing LineageOS impossible because you need recovery mode to install the package. How can I fix this? Thanks! [link] [comments]  |

On the right, there is the service i tried to use to install ADB on my phone. It says its installed fine. On the right, we have me trying to check the version on said phone without success. Edit: I solved it by putting the phone into fastboot mode, then installing ADB via the device manager on my PC. The phone had no ADB installed. [link] [comments]  |

The apps were movable as I've done them before on my previous device, but they can't be moved for this device. I've deleted everything on the card and formatted it. My device is rooted, and I tried to use Link2SD to do the job. | Nexus 5x won't boot and says "no command" in recovery mode Posted: 07 Jan 2018 04:20 PM PST Hey guys, so I have a Nexus 5X that won't get past the Google booting screen. When I try to turn it on it shows the Google booting screen for a few seconds before turning off again. When I go to recovery mode it shows "no command" at first, from there I can still access recovery mode by pressing power and volume up but I've tried factory resetting from here and it doesn't change anything. | A couple weird incidents with my phone - should i be concerned? Posted: 07 Jan 2018 02:06 PM PST Just today I had a couple weird incidents. First of all I have Avast for antivirus and Malwarebytes for anti-malware, but only Avast has any real time protection so they won't interfere. Anyways for no reason the SMS shields got turned off on Avast. Turned em back on, but found it odd. Then just like 20-30 minutes ago my SoundCloud app opened in the background, so I had the notification player pop up and start playing a song. Should I be concerned? Ran scans with both apps and no malware/viruses were found so I'm pretty sure none is on my device. [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 07 Jan 2018 04:53 PM PST Hi, not very phone/tech savvy person here so please use laymans' terms if you have any advice... :) I have a 2016 Samsung J3. I just switched my internet provider from Verizon to RCN (live in DC). The guy said I would have two choices for WIFI. the 2.5 or the 5n when looking to hook my phone up to the WIFI, My phone only shows the choice. Which is weird b/c my boyfriend has a Samsung also and in my house, his phone shows both choices. Help? Thanks P.S. my laptop is only only showing the 2.5 choice??? Also, I have T-mobile. I saw a video where someone set that up through Bluetooth, but when I tried connecting my phone to my computer via Bluetooth, all it would allow me to do is transfer files and I couldn't figure out how to get audio playing through. My other thought was to buy a Chromecast Audio, however I am not even sure that's what I am looking for, and there has to be a way to do this for free. Anybody have any suggestions? | UI Interaction Causes Audio Interrruptions Posted: 07 Jan 2018 10:17 PM PST Esp. with Spotify, when music is playing interacting with UI elements such as keyboard buttons, the Tasks (square) & Home (circle) buttons, and opening apps, or even interacting with the UI elements in Spotify (such as navigating between Radio, Library, or Search) will interrupt the audio stream for a very short period, like one is quickly pausing and playing the music. This has become intolerable and in wondering if anyone has suggestions. It seems to only occur with Spotify (so I might take it to them), but it might occur in other apps as well. | Chrome for my phone reloads on flip Posted: 07 Jan 2018 03:46 PM PST I have an HTC10 and recently whenever i use chrome i have this issue a lot and its driving me insane. Whenever i rotate my phone while using chrome the entire app will reload, making the page reload and often taking me out of incognito mode if i'm in it. This is a huge problem for when i'm trying to read something or i'm watching a video or i just flip it accidentally. Any ideas? [link] [comments]  |

| Boot Menu and Broken Power Button Posted: 07 Jan 2018 08:55 PM PST Recently my Google Pixels power button has broken. I use to somehow power it back on when it died by holding the power buttons and plugging it in to a PC. The google logo would load and everything would work fine. But my recent attempt failed and I opened the Boot Menu. I'm able to cycle through 'Start, Power Off, Etc.' But I'm unable to start it because of the broken power button. Ifs there a way I can exit the menu? Can I just wait until my phone powers off from insufficient power? Is there a trick I don't know? Am I just royally screwed? [link] [comments]  |

Won't connect with BT to Smsung gear S3, JBL e45bt headphones or my car- a 2011 sonata with Bluetooth. Used to work but kept disconnecting itself, now it won't even pair. | Moto X Pure Edition battery dying at 25%. Replace battery or get new phone? Posted: 07 Jan 2018 12:27 PM PST I've had the Moto X Pure Edition since launch, and have been very happy with it. However, since about November, I've noticed the battery dying before 0%. First I noticed it dying at around 10% in November, but now it's dying at around 25%, especially if I use it for a task needing lots of processing power (watching videos, using the camera, etc.). I need the phone to last all day because I use it was my work phone primarily. I've been looking at newer phones and they all have around the same battery power (3000 mAh +/- 500). I don't need anything fancy, but I'm worried that buying a midrange phone (or replacing the battery) would be short-sighted because of all the processing power required on new software updates. Should I replace the battery, buy a midrange phone, or bite the bullet and buy a high end phone with a more efficient processor? [link] [comments]  |

Surface Pro 3 I am all about having all my devices syncing and working together. I want my text messages going to my PC and watch. I want it all working together. Which OS ecosystem would allow me to do all that. I have a surface pro 3 that does not use the full OS of the iPhone. I was thinking two things. Switch to Apple by switching to Macbook Air or switching to Samsung by going for the Galaxy note 8. I love the Galaxy note 8 because of the S pen. Please help thank you [link] [comments]  |

I often read that rooted smartphones are more unsafe. Currently running on my HTC One M8 LineageOS 14.1. But why is it more insecure? If an app wants root privileges, I have to confirm this with "superuser". I get weekly updates that include security patches, bugfixes and more.
