| Why would a tablet require a pin number to close it? Posted: 22 Jan 2021 09:00 PM PST I recently set up the Samsung Galaxy Tab7 tablet which has been a headache anyway. Before I added a pin, I could open and close it easily. Then I added a pin and now it insists on a PIN entry just to close it. I thought a pin would only be required to open it? | How do I disable the System UI app notifications on Android 11 on a Sansung Device? Posted: 22 Jan 2021 08:00 PM PST Hi, so ever since the new Android 11 updated on my phone I'm having a big issue with new hidden notification sounds coming through on my device so like whenever my network bars drop and I have no internet or it connects to like Wi-Fi and there's probably some other apps and IT background for the system that are setting off notification sounds too but it's so annoying because every minute or two it's doing the sound and vibrating. Also the sound that plays is completely different than my system sound when going into the notifications that shows a couple of different sounds that I have set up but none of them are the sound that plays when the system UI goes off. In the settings of my phone of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra I was reading online there is a new feature on Android 11 called hidden notifications and I can't find that anywhere in the settings but if I go to my notifications in the setting it will show recent apps that shut off notification and from there I see the system UI I won and that's the one that setting it off but when I go in there there's a couple of options I can turn off there's a bunch of others that are grayed out and won't let me turn off or even at the very top where you could just do a one press and turn off everything is grayed out also. How do I get these notifications to turn off without turning off all my other notifications for apps or have everything in silent mode. | Which custom ROM is the better for me? Posted: 22 Jan 2021 03:43 AM PST So I own a Poco X3 NFC which runs MIUI. I really dislike this software and thus decided to unlock my bootloader. After waiting for a week, it was finally unlocked so I decided to flash TWRP and a custom ROM. So far I'm stuck on deciding between Arrow OS and Evolution X. Now, here's the thing. I know this is a really noob question, I really have no knowledge about this. Evolution X uses lesser RAM (about 3.5 GB free) and Arrow OS uses a lot (about 2.3 GB free). I did some research and found out that my phone needs to use as much RAM as possible while keeping about 150 MB free. But other sources said that free RAM helped with battery life. My main priority is battery life so which option is better? There is a pretty stark difference here. I certainly wouldn't want to have slower speeds than the stock ROM or worse battery life. Also, which kernel would you guys recommend for the best possible battery life? I don't really play any intensive games, so underclocking it a bit (preferably with no massive performance difference) would be nice. Thanks in advance. P.S. Sorry, title has a typo! I've changed it back to list view a few times but every time I come back it's back to card view. I go to chrome://flags/ and change the 'Tab grid layout' to disabled, relaunch, enabled, relaunch and its back to how I like it, but it does not stay that way. Any suggestions? [link] [comments]  |
| Need some help with choosing a device for upgrade Posted: 22 Jan 2021 07:21 PM PST (IM LOOKING FOR GENUINE ANSWERS, TRY NOT TO BE BIASED) I've been torn about whether to get the iPhone 11 or the S20 FE, so much is drawing me towards the S20 just cause I've always been an android guy specifically with Samsung but what stops me is seeing how well my old iPhone 5s still runs. 3 Main things I have questions about is... Does Apple have better longevity? Cause my current S7 Edge gets quite laggy and heats easily and loads google maps incredibly slow and it has 4gb of ram and came out in 2016 where as my 5s still seems to run smooth and opens its maps quickly and doesn't really heat up much an can run Minecraft pretty well (MC probably isn't a good game to test but still) when it only has 1gb of ram and came out in 2013. My next question is... Is apple more optimized to use its 4gb ram more efficiently than android? Lastly, in terms of battery life longevity both throughout the day and a few years down the line, which would be better cause I know the FE has the bigger battery. [link] [comments]  |

I click on the notification to open the Play store page, and it was at a infinite download screen. Before this happened my phone was completely idle. But when I make Signal my default messaging app, the Android Messages app hides all my messages and says it has to be the default one to see anything. Anyone know a way around either of these issues? | Charging blocked due to moisture/debris... Posted: 22 Jan 2021 09:33 AM PST Lately, when I charge my LG G6, it will start beeping, and show a notification that charging is blocked due to moisture of debris. The phone definitely isn't wet, and I have tried cleaning the port with a little plastic stick, but it still has problems. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. And usually holding the plug in hard with my hand seems to help. I don't know if there is any way to fix with without special tools or sprays, but as far as I know this charging protection can be disabled. But is this dangerous for the phone? I know it would no longer be waterproof, but if it is kept dry, would this be ok? Or could the debris or whatever is causing the error also damage the phone if the protection is turned off? Posted: 22 Jan 2021 11:25 AM PST So today I saw in my notifications that I got a SMS message from a email weirdly, and the link was something like singlegirls and it was obviously a scam/malware. I didn't click the link, and just deleted the message. I checked the history of my default browser (Samsung Internet) and didn't see it. I had to click the message on the notifications to see what the message was, but a browser didn't open up. Is my phone safe? Do I need to factory reset my phone? [link] [comments]  |

| Re-install default Camera on Huawei P8 Lite Posted: 22 Jan 2021 02:59 PM PST I was preparing my 'old' Huawei P8 Lite for my kid and removed all apps that are not needed. But I also did my best to remove the camera and succeeded. But now I would like to get it back. I dont see any default Huawei camera in the App Store nor can I find it on the device.
