In search of a Dell XPS 13 but in either white or rose gold. Can’t seem to find them ANYWHERE

    Posted: 30 Aug 2020 11:36 AM PDT

Looking for the laptop listed above for my partner. I'd like the specs and hardware to be the middle to higher tier options for this model but I can't really seem to find this laptop anywhere much less in the color I want. Seems like a hard to find computer especially if you want a particular set up/color.

    laptop problems

    Posted: 30 Aug 2020 01:06 PM PDT

I have a laptop Acer nitro 5 a few days ago, it worked fine, but when I got home from a walk, I found that my laptop no longer turns on, when booting from its native disk, it gave the error "Don't do this. device: tip ", it does not feel the boot disks, when trying to reinstall Windows it endlessly tries to start it, with Linux it's the same, I tried to restart the motherboard using a magnet, but it did not give any results. Tell me what to do.

Need some advice on buying options

    Posted: 30 Aug 2020 11:43 AM PDT

So I'm heading to uni and I need a quality portable laptop that I can use as my daily driver. I'm a mechatronics and Robotics student so I do lots of heavy programming, use CAD software etc so a good CPU and GPU are a must. I've been looking at Razer Blade 15 2020 base model or the XPS 15 2020 as my primary options but if anyone has a better suggestion or any other advice thank you very much. Price isn't to much of an issue though under £2000 is probably best.

    Cheers

Laptop for school: Portability or Performance?

    Posted: 30 Aug 2020 11:34 AM PDT

I just bought a Razer Blade Stealth 1650 ti, but don't know if I made a mistake. My final choices were between his and the Blade 15 1660 ti. I've heard good things about both but decided to go with the stealth for the extra portability. I am using this laptop for school, work, and gaming here and there but I do have a desktop for that. Did I make a mistake by sacrificing performance for portability? I will be playing games like Far Cry 5 and the new Mafia Remake and was hoping to get medium settings at over 40 fps? I've read a lot over the past week that 40 fps is terrible so it is making me think I made a huge mistake? Can anyone help with there experience of either the power on the stealth or the portability on the Blade 15? Thanks

What 2tb NVME M.2 SSD would you guys recommend for a Dell XPS 17?

    Posted: 30 Aug 2020 11:24 AM PDT

Mine came with a 512 gb drive. Figured I would add an additional drive when I needed it. Already hit my limit on mine. I'm debating between using it just as a data bank or maybe cloning my system and making it the main drive.

I'm kind a newb so go easy on me. Kinda eyeing the samsung evo pro but wondering if I could still get a solid drive for a better bargain or if it's worth investing in something solid.

I've been using my laptop plugged in for about 2 months now because my battery has gotten so bad and the new battery I ordered won't arrive for another month or so. If I continue using my laptop this way, will it break? Should I stop using it? Any help would be appreciated.

    Help on choosing a laptop

TL;DR Omen 15 or Zeph G14? Why? Better options?

Hey guys I want to get a laptop that is under $2000 and is able to play games like TF2, Dolphin Emulator, and GTA V along with being able to use it for coding, Solidworks, and programming as that is what I will be dealing mostly with next semester in college.

Currently I am considering on getting either an HP Omen 15 or a ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14, but I've heard the G14 has bad screen response time, ghosting, and thermals. Should I still get the G14 or Omen 15? or is there a better option I haven't yet seen?

What keyboard skin to get for the HP Envy X360 (13.3")

    Posted: 30 Aug 2020 10:27 AM PDT

Someone just got this laptop (the official model is HP 13-ay0008ca) and I'd like to gift them a keyboard cover. I've checked ebay for this exact model, or even any ay0008xx but I can't find anything. Some of the pictures look close, but I'm guessing they all use stock photos so that's no help. HP also isn't helpful at telling me the keyboard part name.

Anyone have experience with this laptop (or the 2019 version which may share a keyboard) or buying keyboard skins in general?

    Looking for reccomendations

    Posted: 30 Aug 2020 06:40 AM PDT

Hey guys. I'm 19 and will be heading into my first year of college in less then a month. I'm looking to purchase a laptop but I find myself lost because I have never owned one before and do not know much about them. I am looking for one that can be good for projects/notes but also has the capability to run games at a decent frame rate. My budget would be under anything under €1000. Any tips or reccomendations would be greatly appreciated. From Ireland

    Are vivobooks too dim?

    Posted: 30 Aug 2020 10:04 AM PDT

Need a laptop for uni and saw a good sale on an asus vivobook S433FA. I see the displays are like 200 or 250 nits, ideally i would like 300+ but if it isn't a big difference i wouldn't mind. Are 200-250 nits too dim in your experiences?

macbook pro vs MSI prestige vs Zenbook

    Posted: 30 Aug 2020 09:55 AM PDT

    Hey all

Looking into new laptops.... I'm not a gamer, and I use adobe suite products, Microsoft, and I stream a lot (video conference calls, zooms, etc).

Thinking I narrowed it down to either mac book pro, or MSI Prestige. I did see some interesting comments about Zenbook.

Priorities for me are speed and memory.

What do y'all think? I'm in dire need of help!
