| Broken power/volume button ribbon on my Nexus 6 - How to power up the phone? Posted: 24 May 2020 10:06 PM PDT The power/volume ribbon on my nexus 6 is broken. The ribbon disconnected at the connector in the middle. Can I power up the phone without the power or volume buttons, or do I have to replace the ribbon? | Something like Niagara Launcher that allows for more than one widget? Posted: 24 May 2020 09:28 PM PDT I love Niagara launcher and find it amazingly easy to navigate. The fact that your home screen has your favourite apps and that you can access your entire app list using the by scrolling on the right side of the screen is a game changer! That said, I would love to be able have more than one widget. My calendar is my current widget, but I also want to be able to add a to do list. I was wondering if there are any launchers that combine the ease of use that Niagara launcher has (especially the navigation) with allowing more than one widget? [link] [comments]  |

| Need help with Custom binary blocked by frp lock Posted: 24 May 2020 05:22 PM PDT Using a note 9, havent tried to root it or anything and it came up with this problem. Ive tried flashing stock ROM on Odin, but everytime it says it has passed, the phone reboots straight back to the custom binary screen. I have tried the stock ROM for the UK bound to o2 (my service provider) and when that didnt work I tried the stock ROM for the UK and Ireland unlocked incase o2 havent locked my phone, still didnt work. Can anyone help me out, ive look at tens of threads and youtube videos and followed it step by step and cant work out why these stock rom flashes seem to change nothing. | Weird issue with Nova Launcher Posted: 24 May 2020 09:01 PM PDT Howdy y'all. I've got this problem with my phone running Nova launcher, and I'm not sure if anyone else's has been like this, but it's been having conflicts with the default launcher. Like, no matter how many times I switch to Nova in the menu, after an arbitrary amount of time it resets back to Pixel launcher. It especially wants to do this when I swipe up to bring up all my open apps. Anyone else have this problem or perhaps might know a solution? I've managed to temporarily fix it by manually swapping to Pixel launcher and swapping back to Nova, but as I said it always swaps back later on down the road. I appreciate any input y'all. | How to fish out URLs for external playing (like in VLC)? / Browser with external playing function? Posted: 24 May 2020 05:15 PM PDT My Firefox with a "play externally" extension is working slowly and crashing all the time; Amaze browser from Play Store is "not compatible with my device"; and another one I was recommended, UC Browser, doesn't seem to have that function after all. So I'm looking for a browser that does have such a function - anyone know any aside from Firefox and Amaze? Alternatively, if I could get the URLs I can just copypaste them into the VLC player and that'd be fine too - as most here probably know, Youtube URLs can just be pasted into the player and played, however with most other sites that doesn't work and you need a different URL that's normally invisible; anyone know how to fish those out and copy them? | Posted: 24 May 2020 05:14 PM PDT I recently updated my phone to Android 10, and Samsung in their infinite wisdom has decided I am too dumb to control what System app notifications I should be able to disable. Is there any way with ADB [I am not rooted] to change how system apps have permissions in order to enable me to disable notifications I don't want to see? For instance I'd love to turn off the notification for DND in SystemUI, I have a DND schedule I know when it's on and off. I don't need a persistent notification to tell me. [link] [comments]  |

| PHONE WONT TURN ON IF IT NOT PLUG IN Posted: 24 May 2020 08:08 PM PDT My Samsung A5(2015) wont turn on if I not charge it If I doesnt connect it with a charger and try turn it on, it will only go until the samsung logo and then it turn off, vibrate and the samsung logo show up again, turn off again, vibrate and this continue untill it run out of battery or it stop by itself. This behavior start when I unplugged the charging cable while the phone is booting up yesterday.(the charger spec is 10w charger from ASUS) I doesnt had a problem using the phone for 5 month since I get it and fyi it a second hand phone. Note: i primarily use this for phone as hotspot while I'm gaming on my laptop I also already tried to fix it by factory reset the phone but it end up still the same Can someone tell what should I do to fix this problem? Should I reinstall android software on the phone? If anyone need more clarification, just ask ill try my best to answer your question. Btw English is my second language so im sorry if I make a mistake. Edit : I forgot to mention when I go in to recovery mode and then unplug the charger it doesnt turn off. [link] [comments]  |
| Is there a way to use the screen reader on android in a non-accessibility way? Posted: 24 May 2020 03:59 PM PDT I was watching something and saw mention that iphones have a screen reader feature that can basically be turned on and off at will and use it to read eBooks. I tried to do the same thing with my Samsung Note 9 but turning it on makes it really tough just to perform basic use features on the phone. Just kinda wondering if I've missed anything there that it's easier than what I'm seeing. Basically just want to have the ability to use it for eBooks have it only read the book text and turn it off as soon as I'm done. But the setting I was messing around with seems to read the whole screen and anything you touch and requires you to double tap everything, and I couldn't figure out how to scroll with it turned on. Just wondering if there's an easy way to do what I want with it without impacting everything. [link] [comments]  |
| OTG Bluetooth on Android PX6 Car Radio Posted: 24 May 2020 07:36 PM PDT I purchase a head unit however they have lock Bluetooth to only their Bluetooth app which only allows phone connections. How do I get into the firmware to allow for me to do an OTG Bluetooth connection using a USB Dongle? When I connect my USB device to the OTG I get no option to use it. Before S8, I used iPhone 5s in jailed mode for the first 1 year and remaining 2.5 years in jailbroken state. In my S8, what I'm looking for is extra any kind of customizations, themes, advanced gestures / utility softwares, battery & CPU performance improvement and other root benefits BUT WITHOUT LOSING SECURE FOLDER. Yeah, I've been using it for the past 3 years and I don't think I can live without it. I know the basic procedure for rooting (OEM unlocking, Odin, TWRP, magisk) but I'm confused with wide varieties of custom ROMs.

My S10 does connect to other networks (downstairs Wi-Fi and work Wi-Fi). I already tried a forced reboot, resetting the network setting, cache partition wipe, and opening the phone in safe mode. None of these options worked, before factory resetting my phone is there something else I should try. [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 24 May 2020 02:37 PM PDT Hi! For the last few weeks I had a weird problem with my phone's battery and I hope anyone can help me with it. The phone is a Doogee X5 Max Pro if it helps. One day I was using the phone as usual when it suddenly turned off saying there was no power, when there was ~40% left. I didn't mind it too mind thinking it just was a one time thing, until it kept happening everyday. When I extracted the battery I saw it was a bit swollen, so I got a new one. The thing is, the new battery does the exact same thing, but instead of turning off at 40%, it does at 70%. Here you can see the instant drop and how it jumps to high when charging it. I have a BQ Pascal 2 (an old android table), and I wanted to give it a new life by installing Ressurrection Remix (I first considered LineageOS, but I cannot find a compatible version). Now I don't know how to install it. I downloaded the image and put the zip into an SD card. Some sites seem to suggest that I make a custom backup and then install it, but I think I need an extra piece of software to do that (such as TWRP?), but I'm newbie and don't know how to do that and I cannot find clear walkthroughs. Posted: 24 May 2020 11:41 AM PDT The optimal solution would be an actual non-stop alarm when an email with specific terms arrives, but a unique notification sound would be fine. Would also be nice if it could breakthrough do-not-disturb hours. Gmail used to offer unique notification sounds with Labels, but the feature has been deprecated. Is there an alternative? Have tried Tasker, but was never able to get an alert working. While a Gmail related solution would be preferred, any email client would be fine. [link] [comments]  |
