| Stop screen locking while reading Posted: 01 Sep 2019 07:16 PM PDT I've just got a Mi 9se and have an issue with the screen locking while I'm reading the phone. I have screen autolock to 15 seconds as I have major pocket text issues, but this causes the screen to lock while I'm reading messages,web pages etc. For the past 5 years I've been using Sony's Compact phones and they have a sensor that can tell when you are looking at the phone so the auto screen lock won't kick in. | Posted: 01 Sep 2019 04:19 PM PDT So I got the xiaomi mi a back when it came out the red edition, and used it up until Christmas and handed that to my younger sister, everything was fine till today when she has an issue with her headphone jack says that it's plugged in but it's not. There's no wiggle room in the jack and no push and pull. So I thought it was dirty and cleaned it with a q-tip and didn't fix it, then restarted it, didn't fix it and lastly trying plugging in headphones and going to the settings and check the EQ see if that would fix it. Nothing has worked last thing I checked was the last update and sure enough the last one was today Sep 1. Could it be a bug? | Posted: 01 Sep 2019 10:12 PM PDT My lockscreen shows a time 3.5 hours later than my homescreen, the time on my homescreen aswell as the systemtime are correct. i tried automatic timezone aswell as manually setting it, i'm basically out of ideas how to fix. A very strange thing is happening to me: whether you play, or listen to music or watch videos, the volume is lowered (sometimes it becomes mute) and is then re-established by itself. | Posted: 01 Sep 2019 02:37 PM PDT I currently have an MiA1 which has AndroidOne. I have never had MiUi before. So with pending Xiaomi devices waiting to be delivered to me. I am unsure at this time where they will be Chinese or global Roms. I'm in Canada so I will want global. I have seen recommendations for the Xiaomi.EU variant as well as mi-globe. I like the build your own adventure style of mi-globe but I don't like that it basically reloads for updates. Once I pick my Rom I want to install once then just update patches from there. Does .EU do that too? I personally do no care for root or want it rooted. I want gcam to work and my banking app to work. I did unlock bootloader temp to enable cam2api on current device but then locked again and no issues with banking app. I have 6 different devices coming: Mi9 Mi9T Mi9 SE MiMix 3 Redmi 7 Redmi Note 7 Anyone with experience with these roms (or others) on any (or all) of these devices? Specifically in Canada (or NA)? I also hear custom roms have issues with the mimix3 slider and front cam. Is this true? I've had other phones with replaced screens, but the screen has always been not as good as the original. Anyone have any experience replacing the Note 5 screen? Success? | Posted: 01 Sep 2019 07:41 AM PDT I bought a Mi 9 SE yesterday (finally!) but I'm just wondering how I can verify that it's authentic. I collected it from Mi & More's office in Rochdale (a retailer in the UK - they have a website and ebay store) and when I went to collect it the guy there did something in the back office with the phone. I can only assume he updated the ROM or updated the phone etc. But on the back of the box there's a bar code, when you peel it off it says the colour of the phone is ocean blue - my phone is black. Maybe he just gave me a random Mi 9 SE box? There's also no QR code to scan or security code. The phone seems to be working fine, I'd just like to make sure it's real. | I spilled tea over my Xiaomi Mi Laptop Pro Posted: 01 Sep 2019 12:45 PM PDT This morning I was watching YouTube and accidentally spilled my cup of tea over my laptop. I freaked out and rushed to shut it down. I opened it up, cleaned as much as I could and used a hairdryer to heat it up and dry it. The laptop survived but with damages. The tea was spilled on the far right are of the keyboard so it isn't as dramatic as if it were spilled all over it. The thing is from the 'Enter' and to right, up and down, the keys are super sticky and they feel like there's no travelat all. Also, when I unplug the power the laptop dies, no matter the battery level. Should I visit a local expert/technician or try to get some warranty? It's the only machine I have and I'm studying computer science and the semester starts in a month. :/ [link] [comments]  | ||
