I'd like to go nearly google-free so I need a replace for keep and a to do list

    Posted: 03 Apr 2018 03:57 AM PDT

Hi guys, I'd like to go nearly "google-free", just a sort of challenge to my self.

I need to replace two apps: a note taking and a to do list.

I prefer FOSS app but it's not a must, I can live with free apps as well.

So, can you advice me a good and trustworthy note taking app, and a good to do list? (for me wunderlist was the best ever but ms to do is not good as wunderlist, I try ticktick too but I don't like it either)

    thank you in advance

I'd like to replace maps too but for now maps seems the best choice 'cause it include a nice and easy to use feature for rememeber where I parked the car, that other app like maps.me doesn't have (yes I don't like to have tons of app that do the same things)

    PUBG and Fortnite on mobile

    Posted: 02 Apr 2018 04:42 PM PDT

I don't play either of these games, but i have seen enough of them on Twitch to know what they're all about. I was made aware of their existence on mobile just before creating this post, and I simply can not wrap my head around it. How on earth did they make these games run on mobile hardware when both games would easily turn my laptop into a frying pan could cook my breakfast on?? Have they downgraded the map size, player count and graphics to oblivion? Because at first glance they looked pretty much like the PC versions. I would love to play games like that on my laptop if I could turn down the requirements so low it even runs on a mobile.

Is there a Tumblr App that not only let's you switch accounts, but maintains separate feeds as well?

    Posted: 02 Apr 2018 08:29 PM PDT

I have two Tumblr accounts. One for porn (obviously) and one for regular things that interest me. The Tumblr app lets me switch between accounts for the purpose of liking or uploading, but they have the same feed, so when I switch to the non-porn account, my feed is still absolutely riddled with porn. I want them to be completely distinct and separated, but still able to switch to whichever one suits my current fancy. Does such a thing exist? I can't be the only one in this situation.

What app do you recommend to organize my records?

    Posted: 03 Apr 2018 06:23 AM PDT

I keep track of a lot of records on my laptop. These records are mainly PDF, word, and Excel Docs. I organize my records by putting them into folders and subfolders. I would like to organize this same way on my android smart phone. What app would help me do this?

Tasker vs. Automagic--which one for me?

    Posted: 03 Apr 2018 09:31 AM PDT

From doing a bit of research, it seems that the two best automation apps are Tasker and Automagic. Obviously Tasker is more popular, has more documentation and guides, and has a ton of plugins. However, it seems that it is easier and more intuitive to implement things with Automagic due to its flowchart design. Since Tasker can do pretty much anything, are there any notable things Automagic cannot do that Tasker can?

Automagic is what I'm currently considering because it seems like it has more potential (Tasker is more feature-complete and any significant changes probably requires a large overhaul), but I also have some programming skills that I figured would be better utilized using Tasker. Also, Tasker apparently likes you make a GUI, which is pretty cool. While there are many plugins available for Tasker, I feel like that's also a weakness--plugins can be incompatible or break over time (also, some of the features that these plugins provide are built-in for Automagic).

What do you guys think? Interested in opinions from users who tried both, since I'm sure users of Tasker or Automagic will say it's a great app (I know I won't regret getting either). It's just a big investment if I decide I want to switch from one to the other (I know Automagic supports Tasker things, but you know what I mean--any reason to switch requires learning everything again).

    Much appreciated.

P.S. This is assuming both these apps stay around for a long time and and their respective communities continue to be active (I know Tasker has this edge).

TV Show Companion App (not a tracker)

    Posted: 03 Apr 2018 09:24 AM PDT

Im looking for a tv show companion app, but not a tracker. Basically, the app should link me reactions, like episode reviews, communities or subreddits discussing the show, ratings of an episode, etc. Ideally, the app also serves as a tracker, but thats secondary to me. Is there any app like that?

    [Help] Nova Launcher wallpaper scrolling

    Posted: 02 Apr 2018 11:49 PM PDT

    Hello,

Is there a way to get my wallpaper to scroll faster using Nova Launcher? I have an s9+. I want to get an effect similar to this, where swiping across home screens transitions from Joi to K:

    https://gfycat.com/CheerfulWaterloggedCougar

However, when I get this wallpaper, the scroll isn't sufficient across two home screens to make the distance of the wallpaper. How can I fix this?

    Thanks.

    ''Iphone locator'' app alternative

    Posted: 03 Apr 2018 11:39 AM PDT

This app was great, but unfortunately its no longer working for me after I switched phones. It allowed me to locate an Iphone from my android. All I needed was the icloud login/pw associated with the iphone. It wasnt even required for the iphone to have the app installed. Is there an alternative app that does the same thing?

Crono: Mobile notifications, now on your Browser

    Posted: 03 Apr 2018 11:08 AM PDT

    Hi Reddit,

I am the developer of Crono, an android + chrome extension, that lets you sync your mobile notifications on your browser. There are other apps/extensions like Pushbullet, Pushline that solves the same thing, but they look very dull and raw. Also, most of them are not into active development anymore. While developing Crono I focussed on UX and usability of the app. Crono not only syncs your notifications with your browser, but it lets you take actions on them. You can directly reply to SMS and Whatsapp messages, (Y) tweets, decline a call etc. Crono won't bug you with push notifications (unless you ask Crono to do so).

You can send chrome tabs to your phone, view your device battery and sync your events. Crono supports end-to-end AES256 encryption, hence your data is secure from dark forces.

    Try Crono app/extension at https://getcrono.com

Download Play Store + Chrome Extension

    Thanks!

    Posted: 02 Apr 2018 07:19 PM PDT

    Hey guys,

About a week or two ago I noticed a small plus sign next to my lte signal. I figured it is just a bit faster than regular lte. My question is that why did I get it, it just randomly showed up one day. And prior to that I had an update a week before and nothing seemed different.

Phone- Sony Xperia Xa1 Ultra. Not sure if the phone matters but I left it in.
