Lack of Android 10 on 7pro

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 04:46 PM PDT

Hey, does anyone else own a 7 pro but still doesn't have Android 10? Wondering how I can receive the update or if it is still rolling out?

    Thanks!

T-Mobile to International converted OnePlus 6t Android 10.0 update

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 06:00 PM PDT

I can confirm I have Android 10 up and running on a t-mobile converted to International OnePlus 6t. No problems at all! You just have to update through Oxygen Updater then through the settings app and local upgrade and you're good to go!

    Android 10 Stable Bugs

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 01:34 PM PDT

    Listing bugs I've seen here:

    • SafetyNet fail
    • Screen calibration is off
    • Bluetooth audio stuttering
    • Bluetooth car connection issues
    • Ambient display not working
    • Auto brightness worse
    • Battery life is worse (?)
    • Fingerprint sensor buggy (?)
    • Bootloop/data wiped (?) (Might be certain apps like facebook and snapchat)

Let me know if I missed anything. Personally I'm glad I waited to see if T-Mobile to Global converted 6Ts worked. I probably wouldn't update with all these bugs.

    How secure are OnePlus phones?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 08:01 PM PDT

    Hello r/oneplus!

I am new here and I've been considering picking up a OnePlus 7 from T-Mobile here in the states. I've been using Pixel phones since 2016, but I am getting a little bored and would like to try something new.

That being said, I know OnePlus doesn't push out monthly security updates. But I have read various articles about their handling of user data. I've seen that they've sent phone information to their own servers, credit card fraud and something about a clipboard exploit.

Instead of reading what might or might not be BS, I wanted to ask you actual users.

Do you feel the phones are safe? Do you trust OnePlus as a company? Do you use your banking apps and other sensitive apps on your phones? I know everybody collects some form of data somewhere along the line, but what I've seen thus far has me a little concerned.

Sorry if I sound uneducated here, but as I said I haven't used anything other than Pixels for the past few years.

Thank you in advance for the help!

Did Oneplus mess up screen calibration in Android 10?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 04:28 AM PDT

Display doesn't seem natural for me at all. Colors are either too warm or too cold. Even in "Natural" mode.

    Phone is 6T.

[6T]Google Camera port for Android 10

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 02:08 PM PDT

Is there any 6T gcam port that works ok for Android 10? All I've tried so far had problems (force closings, freezes etc.)

Bought a new OnePlus 7T. I love it except... the other day the thing turned into a brick for about 2 hours, then it's fine again.... anyone else experience similar?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 06:10 AM PDT

I'm in a restaurant waiting for a date to arrive and I went to check my phone. But the fingerprint reader wouldn't come on... the screen wouldn't come on... no response whatsoever.

I tried holding the power button for like 20 seconds. Try holding power+vol down for 20+ seconds. Never getting any response at all, not a sound, vibrate, screen on, or anything.

My date arrives and I describe what's going on. We spend a few minutes Googling it on her phone and trying to find some trick to get a response from the phone. I decide the phone is just 100% dead and try to ignore it for the rest of the night.

But then when it's time to leave about 2 hours later, I pulled the phone out and hit the power button and it actually turned on!

Yay, but also what the hell? What happened? Is this a common problem, and will it happen again? I've never felt such shaky confidence towards my smartphone before.... :(

Strange color calibration since A10 update

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 01:52 PM PDT

I just did the A10 update on my 6T, I used sRGB since day one because reviews said it was the more accurate, I was used to it. Now with Android 10 sRGB looks différents, especially on blue color that looks more grey than before.

Did they changed something ? Since I'm already used to it why do I fell like something is off with screen calibration ? Anyone noticed it ?

    Android 10 on OnePlus 6T T-Mobile

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 09:52 AM PDT

Saw that Android 10 was rolling out to the 6Ts and didn't want to wait another 3 months for T-Mobile to release it.

Converted my locked T-Mobile OnePlus 6T over to the international version today, then upgraded to Android 10 with Oxygen Updater.

So far everything has been perfect! Still checking and verifying apps, but thought I'd give a report in case anyone else was thinking about it.

    Android 10 Issue [7Pro]

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 09:03 AM PDT

So I'm running the "Official" Android 10 from the One is site. I'm having this issue when I connect to my car via Bluetooth, I get the audio skipping. The fix seems to be disconnecting Bluetooth and reconnecting. Not sure why this fixes it, but it does. If I revert back to the older build, it's fine. I'm going to revert back because I drive all the time and this is a big annoyennce for me. I was wondering if anyone has experienced this and if anyone can think of a reason or that it's just a bug for now. Thanks!

Does Oneplus tax in US from website?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 02:09 PM PDT

I heard they don't and if they don't would I have to pay it later or what's the deal? I saw the other thread but it just left me wondering if I should pay the tax later.

    edit: California btw

Why hasn't my 7Pro received the Android 10 update yet?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 01:12 PM PDT

I've been checking regularly through the OS, but no update.. I bought directly Frome OnePlus, not through T-Mobile.

First time with OnePlus, have some questions

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 06:15 PM PDT

The last non-Google phone I used was my original Moto X back in 2013 so this is all very new to me. I picked up a 7 Pro and moved away from my 3XL. I've tried to just jump in but there are a few questions I have. I am using Android 10 with no nav bar, through Oxygen Updater.

    • On my Pixel I can move the cursor by sliding along the spacebar on GBoard, is this just not possible in Oxygen?
    • Similar vein, where is the close keyboard button? It makes using TeamViewer or any other remote desktop app impossible when the keyboard gets trigger and there is no way to close it.
    • I used Tasker to toggle my dark and light themes based on sunset/sunrise but the profiles don't appear to be working. Or at least they are half working. Notification shade stays dark, app drawer goes light, etc.
    • Is there an actual AMOLED dark mode? This dark grey/blue in half the OS is less than ideal.
    • Given the amount of RAM I have (12GB) I feel like more than 4 apps should be in my recents, but that's almost never the case. Any ideas?

I got GCam working (I think), I am using Hoolm Savitar libs.

    • How do use it with telephoto or wide angle?
    • How do I trigger it with the double click power button gesture?
    • How do I disable face smoothing?

Got any "definitely do this" for me? Or general tips and tricks you've picked up along the way? I know GCam and Oxygen Updater is a big one, but is there anything else?

Safe to upgrade 7 Pro to Android 10 with Oxygen Updater?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 06:04 PM PDT

I keep seeing posts of people saying things are broken with the update. Is it safe to use Oxygen Updater to update to Android 10?

Am I the only one who loves Zen Mode?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 02:30 AM PDT

I have always had sleep issues since the past couple of years but this thing has helped me immensely. I live a very busy life and sleep is something that is really important for me. I have sleep deprivation issues and this has really helped me go to bed on time. Usually between 10-11PM I get a notification and get ready to go to bed. Once the button is pressed, there is no going back. No games. No youtube. Nothing to distract you.

This in turn has also made me realise that I should complete all phone activities before I go to the bedroom. I saw many people complaining about this app but for someone who needs time off from tech, this has been immensely helpful.

Ambient Display not working right after Android 10 update on OP6T

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 12:24 PM PDT

Everything seems pretty good with the new update so far but the ambient display is a shadow of it's former self. All it shows me is the fingerprint button. I can't see the time, or any potential notifications. I can't tell you how many times I use ambient display just to see what time it is really quick.

Anyone figured out a fix? It doesn't seem right at all.

Google Play system update 2 months out of date on OP7

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 11:31 AM PDT

I got this message on the security section in settings.

What gives? Also, when's the October or November patch coming to the OP7? Does the 7 Pro has it?

    Spyware in OxygenOS?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 06:49 AM PDT

A few days ago I decided to upgrade my OnePlus 6T to the Android 10 beta, after a few days some apps started to give me problems, so I decided to check the logcats to see if I could find the cause, and I found this:

    11-02 10:15:47.324 911 1001 E SurfaceFlinger: screenshot by : /system/bin/surfaceflinger

This message was repeated many times in the logcat (Obviously I didn't take those screenshots), I decided to do a quick search on Google, because I thought it could be an Android/OOS bug, but I didn't find anything about it, until a couple of days later, a guy made a post on XDA showing the same problem.

For hours I've been uninstalling system applications to find the culprit of this behavior, but for now I'm not getting lucky.

It's probably a false alarm, but I'm not happy knowing that something is taking screenshots of my smartphone every few seconds, I've talked to a friend who has the 7 Pro and this doesn't happen on his device, which makes me almost sure that it could be a bug, it makes no sense to get this information from a part of your users when you could get it from everyone.

But anyway I would like to get help on this, maybe some developer can put a little light on this issue, because if it's a bug, it should be fixed, but if it's not a bug, OnePlus users would be in trouble.

PS: A user has informed me that this behavior also occurs in the stable version for 6/6T that was released yesterday.

Android 10 has broken my 6T!!!

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 09:40 AM PDT

I was browsing Facebook as usual when my screen cut out and then all of a sudden the phone restarted and got stuck on the boot animation. No idea what is wrong with it

Anyone know what to do as i need this phone working 100& by tomorrow evening

    Thankss

    UPDATE:

I booted into the recovery and now my phone has just wiped itself for no reason!!!!! I am fuming about this Oneplus

I actually cannot believe this has just happened!!! I literally did NOTHING to the phone for it to do this apart from attempt to go into the recovery to clear the cache! EVERYTHING is gone. Luckily Photos backs up all the major stuff but this is unacceptable

OnePlus 6 Dark mode displays a white bar by the notch when playing video in full screen

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 10:12 AM PDT

I have OnePlus 6 with Open Beta Android 10. I am enabling dark using the force dark mode option in Developer settings. What I see is that when I am playing YouTube or Netflix in full screen landscape mode, the area beside the notch is completely white.

I don't see anyone talking about the issue so I am hoping that there is a fix or for someone to look into it.
