Increadible dissapointed with OnePlus service and repairs Posted: 31 Oct 2019 07:39 AM PDT I am just posting this because I have just had some of the worst customer service in my life and I wanted to let you guys know if you are thinking about getting a OnePlus 7 Pro. I got a OnePlus 7 Pro on launch day here in Sweden. I was excited to switch to Android after many years as a iPhone user. I wanted to have a quality phone without a lot of junk and that had a more reasonable price than the recent iPhones. I loved it for months. The fast and nice display, the fast update to Android 10. I was sure I would stick with OnePlus for many years to come. That changed the other week. I went on a conference trip with my company to Koh Samui in Thailand. It was incredible humid and rainy this time of the year so the phone definitely got a little bit wet. All of a sudden it started to reboot in a loop and I wasn't able to turn it off. I put it in my dry hotel room and went for dinner. The phone was never submerged in water or touched anything wet. It was just humid and some drops ended up on the display. When I got back it was stuck in firmware recovery mode and soon after that it died and never turned back on. I flipped it over and there was water behind the camera lenses! I was shocked because the phone is supposed to hold up to water pretty fine and I have never seen a phone get water inside of the body just by being out in the humid and rainy weather. Me and my coworkers was amazed by this and we passed the phone around the day after and everyone agreed that it had to be a manufacturing error. I ordered a repair online as soon as I was back from my trip. To my amazement oneplus calls me after two days and tells me they are going to return the phone as is because the repair was going to be more expensive for me then getting a new phone! I was actually very surprised and told the representative that I think it has to be a manufacturing fault and they would have to get back to me later. They did over email - with basically the same answer, they will return it without any repairs and no replacement. I pushed back and said that surely the phone would have handle humidity in Thailand - the phone is even sold there! Again the same response "Humidity counts as water damage which our warranty doesn't cover". This has me heartbroken. I have this almost new phone (just 5months old), I haven't mishandled it and I am still paying the carrier for it. I can't really afford a new one so I am not sure what to do now. Have anyone else had this problem with the 7 Pro? [link] [comments] |
OnePlus literally told me to go to Reddit for support... Posted: 31 Oct 2019 01:32 PM PDT I called OnePlus because I could not find a physical way to activate my Servify (crappy company) service plan. After 3 phone calls, this was their best answer. Really sad. [link] [comments] |
And this is why screen protectors are a good idea... Posted: 31 Oct 2019 11:46 AM PDT Saved my barely week old OP7T. Now time to order another one... [link] [comments] |
My One Plus 7 Pro cant hear my wife's One Plus 6T phone call Posted: 31 Oct 2019 05:41 PM PDT Found a post about this a few months ago, never got a solution, so I am reposting in hopes that someone was able to fix this. As the title says, when I call my wife (or my friend) who both have 6t, on my 7pro, I cannot hear them. They call me back, and I hear them just fine, I also can call anyone else, (who doesnt have a 6t) and I can hear them just fine. From the previous post, it seems this is happening on all multiple carriers so I dont believe my carrier is the issue here. [link] [comments] |
Occasional buggy home animation on nova Posted: 31 Oct 2019 03:09 PM PDT Was just wondering if anyone else experiences this issue It happens occasionally but I'm not sure why. Most of the time it goes back to home without the double animation where it flashes the app again. any help would be appreciated. cheers EDIT: using oneplus 7 pro on OOS 10.0.1. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Oct 2019 12:46 PM PDT Hi, I've becoming a bit concerned related to my battery, after the A10 upgrade the sot isn't as great as it used to be and it seems to be draining a lot faster than usual. I just wanted to get an opinion on it from anyone for a sanity check - for the record I kept the 90hz on I keep my brightness during use less than 40-50% whilst using night mode, however after at least 30-40 mins of use (this is just listening to music on spotify using blueteeoth earphones) I've noticed I've lost 10%; although I've witnessed very little drain from night to morning. Before the update, I used to average about 5-6 hours sot and charge between 40-80% battery for the battery life - now I 'm lucky to get 3 hours of sot within a single charge from 100 to 1. My attempt to resolve the issue was to do a wipe cache and data > reset and even doing a factory setting, it didn't really do anything. I've used to use apps like AccuBattery that used to give me somewhat estimations on my use and what used to drain it - however I'm stuck with the native on that's available which doens't show any timestamps, I do remember Android 5 or 6 on my Nexus 6P it did show timestamps and a proper history of use but that's a different topic. I've attached some screenshots: [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Oct 2019 02:53 PM PDT Title. They currently have my broken phone and are refusing to fix it unless i cough money up. I'm going to contact support again to ask what the hell is up. How can they not support me if their product went defective on me less than a year later? Is this a common occurence? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Oct 2019 10:26 AM PDT I have a spare skin from old phone, new, never used. It is black dragon skin with red oneplus logo included. I'll mail it via USPS. Let me know if anyone wants it. https://i.imgur.com/PgcjWZ6.jpg [link] [comments] |
Phone randomly waking up when its just sitting on my desk Posted: 31 Oct 2019 06:16 PM PDT I cant figure out what is causing this. I will have my phone sitting off to the side of my desk I'm not touching it, its not moving and every few minutes it keeps waking up and looking for my face to unlock the device. I have no idea why this is happening or how to fix it, but its incredibly frustrating. This happens if its face up or face down on something. I have looked through settings, turned off wake up on notifications, restarted my phone and its still doing this. Any idea whats going on here? Edit: The phone is a 6t [link] [comments] |
Do you know where in the US I have to ship my defective Bullets to claim my warranty? Posted: 31 Oct 2019 02:59 AM PDT Tl;Dr: read the title I am starting the process on claiming my warranty for my first generation Bullets. The right earbud stopped working all of a sudden. The bullets are perfect, no scratches, no observable damage. They look brand new because I take really good care of them and I don't use them so much. I prefer being analog given the opportunity. Also, the left earbud is perfect and the buttons and the mic work fine. The battery is fine too. Anyways, I know why they got damaged. That crappy "case" that comes with them. I knew they were not going to last long with that weird way you have to flex the cord that goes around your neck. It was a matter of time. Thank God I am still covered my the 12 months warranty. I bought them on November 27th last year from OnePlus.net. The problem is that I am currently living in Colombia so I have to ship them to OnePlus and pay for it. I need to know where do you send the defective items to be fixed. I need to know the postal code, city, state, etc. so I can be able to have an estimate on the cost of the shipment. I wrote an email to OnePlus Support earlier. They will give me this information eventually but I am asking you guys because I need to know OnePlus's address as soon as possible I need to know how much will it cost me to be able to save enough money before the warranty expires. PS. What do you think about the second generation of the Bullets? Are there major improvements? Do they have that weird flex (but not okay) way to get in the case? I am thinking on what to do if OnePlus says that my warranty is void for some bulls&t reason. Thank you guys for your help. Much appreciated. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 31 Oct 2019 04:48 PM PDT I just received my 7t today and put in my Verizon sim card. I've seen posts saying that I needed to activate stuff on my sim card before being able to call and stuff, but I have been able to send texts and send calls. There's even an "hd" icon next to the contact name during the call. Do I still need to activate anything on my sim card if it already seems to work? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Oct 2019 04:45 PM PDT I have the TMobile OnePlus 7 pro but I got it unlocked. Can I flash the international version of the phone before rooting it or should I just root it without flashing the international version. Will I still get ota updates after this? And should I use this guide or something else? https://oneplus.gadgethacks.com/how-to/root-your-oneplus-7-pro-with-magisk-0199342/ [link] [comments] |

Posted: 31 Oct 2019 07:56 PM PDT New One+ 7T user here. I noticed when I try to add another user, that user isn't able to use the new Android 10 gestures and no where in the settings is it able to be changed. It reverts back to the old 3 button screens. Anyone know how to fix this. ? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Oct 2019 07:46 PM PDT I'm in the US and can get the 7 Pro right now for about $615 (student discount) or get an international 7T Pro for $749ish on eBay. It would only be missing on T-Mobile band that I don't think I've ever connected to. Outside of the slightly better processor what does the 7T Pro offer over the 7 Pro? Right now I'm leaning 7 Pro but the other is not too much more. [link] [comments] |
How up 2 date are oneplus phones kept? Could blind person use the screen FP sensor? Posted: 31 Oct 2019 11:57 AM PDT Hello folks, I am little out of touch with phones. I am trying to help some friends out. They are coming from Samsung phones, specifically s8 and s9. The reason my friends are looking to change, is they are blind and use speech and the Samsung phones seem to constantly update the samsung customizations and adding constant bloat that can't be removed and even completely breaks things occasionally. I had told them to wait for the new pixel, however with the lack of FP sensor it hurts the way they would use their phones so it turns out that it's not an option. So with that said I am looking for a fairly lightweight unmodified, yet still kept fairly up to date phone with 4+ gigs of memory that also includes FP sensor and a good camera for OCR and video assistance apps. From what I have read OP might exceed what we need. So the only other concern I have, would a blind person be able to use the onscreen FP sensor? The idea I have in mind being that once they learn where it's generally located all they have to be able to do is generally graze it. I would love some of you experienced folks input. What color profile is the most accurate for the OnePlus 5T? Posted: 31 Oct 2019 07:19 PM PDT When I compare the "standard" color profile to my friends iPhone X, the skin tones on my phone are orange compared to theirs. What color profile is the most accurate? [link] [comments] |
Is the Oxygen Updator 100% safe? Wondering if its ok to use on my new OP 7 Pro Posted: 31 Oct 2019 06:54 PM PDT So I just got my new Oneplus 7 Pro and I've been loving it so far, but I do want to have Android 10 as well and I know that you can update using oxygen updater. The only thing is that I'm worried that if something goes wrong that I will not be able to recover my phone, am I completely good to proceed? [link] [comments] |
OnePlus 6T wallpaper keeps getting set to black. Posted: 31 Oct 2019 06:10 AM PDT the past day or so my 6T is resetting my wallpaper to a blank black. when I set a new pic as wallpaper it'll stay for about 20 minutes or so before it goes back to a blank black wallpaper. I don't have it set to slideshow or anything. I've also been having an issue with the adaptive brightness turning itself off. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Oct 2019 02:15 PM PDT Just got my 7t today. For some reason while downloading apps onto the phone, some of the downloads will be taking forever (up to 40 minutes) and others will only take seconds. Does anyone have any idea what's going on? At first my play store wasn't even showing anything in my list of apps so i had to factory reset the phone twice as well [link] [comments] |
7 pro or a different one plus on a budget? Posted: 31 Oct 2019 06:26 AM PDT Im on a budget of under 300, and i want the 7 pro but its around 360. Im wondering if there's anywhere where its about 300 or just another good oneplus at that price? [link] [comments] |
How to turn of the automatic "Facetune" of my selfies. (Especially in Snapchat) [Oneplus 7 Pro] Posted: 31 Oct 2019 05:26 AM PDT When I take a selfie in Snapchat on my Oneplus 7 Pro, It automatically adjusts my face to hide pores and spots and generally smooths out my face. I can't stand it, I don't want the camera to edit my face to make it look like it has been in the Facetune app. Anyone else who has this problem or has fixed it? [link] [comments] |
