I did a long ride on Strava and took a lot of pictures. My phone died before I was able to save or upload these photos and when I turned the phone back on, they seemed to be gone. I was pretty disappointed. But I did some digging around and it seems like all of the photos were put in the Lost directory, all I had to do was rename them to add .png on the end and I got them all back!

[Dev] Harry Potter Weasleys like "Magical Location Clock" - Widget App released!

    Posted: 20 Sep 2019 07:22 AM PDT

    Hi /r/Android!

A few months back I asked for you to test the app I'm working on. Partially thanks to your help I'm now releasing the app to the public! So for those who haven't heard about it yet:

    What is Magical Location Clock?
    Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbr-jg6H2Ag
MLC is an app with which you can add animated widgets to your homescreen that resemble the magical location clock from Harry Potter. This means the clock will show whether your loved ones are home, at work, school or missing (or whatever location you choose to add (yes, adding 'missing' as other-location name is an option)) by pointing a clock hand with the person's picture at the name of that location.
You can for instance create a group with your family to tell when someone has arrived home safely using a pretty looking widget directly from your homescreen. Locations for a group can be added easily as a circle on a map (as can be seen in the video). The map will also show a picture of the people in the group at their respective location, which can be turned off for a group if you're not comfortable with sharing your exact location with the people in the group (understandably). The widgets will still work and show when you're inside a location circle though (unless you turn off your location entirely for a while, which is also possible).
For looks you can choose from a variety of widget themes built into the app or you can download user-made ones!

Everything I described above is available for everybody for FREE with no ads (aside from my own app)! However, using a single in-app purchase, you can also unlock the full functionality of the app: Aside from downloading widget themes you can also modify and create themes by yourself and share them or publish them to the website! You can customize pretty much everything in the widget. From the background and the color (patterns) to hand/frame designs and font! I'm curious to see what you come up with :).
You can also have multiple groups and add API persons to a group (for instance iOS users, for explanation check here).

    About
I created the app by myself entirely and as an Android fanboy I made sure it adhered to the Material Design guidelines complete with useful animations, app shortcuts, live updating UI, edge to edge design and of course (android 10) dark mode! If you have any questions, suggestions or bug reports, you can leave them here or email me at [mlc@jolanrensen.nl](mailto:mlc@jolanrensen.nl). I also still have some promo codes for the paid version from last time, so send me a message if you want one! Personally I use the app with my family who also enjoys it a lot. I put a clock in a screensaver on an old tablet so our family can be just as magical als the Weasleys :D.

    Download
Not convinced yet? I'll cut you a deal. The app is available for free!
    - Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.jolanrensen.clockwidget
    - XDA Labs: https://labs.xda-developers.com/store/app/nl.jolanrensen.clockwidget
    - Website: https://mlc.jolanrensen.nl/
The app is more fun with multiple people, so make sure you tell your friends and family!
