A VoIP (SIP) app that doesn't require "Facebook-style" permissions? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 08:53 AM PST I am searching for a VoIP (SIP) app, but looks like all the apps require an incredible amount of permissions? For example sipdroid wants more permissions than the Facebook app I am willing to give access only to microphone [link] [comments] |
[DEV] : Prevent battery overcharging/overheating & extend your phone's battery life Posted: 15 Jan 2018 10:45 AM PST Alarm : Avoid battery overcharging [FREE] : Get notified with an alarm, when battery charge reaches a level/percentage selected by you. These days most phones use Li-ion batteries. If you keep these batteries charged for a long time, these tend to get overheated which is the main cause of depleted battery lives. So set an alarm when 90% charging is done & keep your battery healthy in the long run. Minimum background processing : Extremely lightweight processing which dosen't take a toll on your day to day battery life. Eg: if current battery level is 10% & required is 90%. In this case the gap(80%) is large & app will not kick in processing until it becomes small. Delay : Even after 100% charging notification, phones still take a little more time to get fully charged. You can specify a delay eg. 10 mins. In this case you will get notified with an alarm, 10 mins after desired charging level is reached. Simple & user friendly UI Snooze : Instead of dismissing, you can snooze an alarm for a duration of 5/10/20/30/45/60 mins. You can snooze any no.of times as you may desire. Auto dismiss : Instead of manually dismissing an alarm, you can set up auto-dismiss (5/15/30 secs ... 1/2/4/10/20/30/45/60 mins). In this case, alarm will automatically get dismissed, if alarm remains unattended for the specified duration Vibration : You can enable vibration option. In addition, alarm volume can be turned off altogether. For minimum disturbance you can opt for zero volume + vibration combination. Full fledged Alarm notification : When Charging level is reached, you get an alarm which will not stop until explicitly dismissed by the user. Not merely a short duration notification, which has high probability of being missed. No need to keep the app open : You will get notified with alarm, even if app is closed all of the time. Automatic restart : When the phone is reboot, the app is restarted automatically. No need to give explicit auto start permission. Select your alarm ringtone from a variety of sources : You can use either device ringtones/notifications of any music file stored on your phone. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 15 Jan 2018 11:30 AM PST Idk if this is the right place to post this but idc. So I have been playing minesweeper on my phone and I was trying to get a set of 20 scores on beginner mode so I could start to do races against myself, when I got more than 20 I found out that the scorelist continues with 21 and so on when you get new scores. This sucks because I want to compete with myself. Could anybody here make a version so that the list always stays at 20 and I can compete in silence again? [link] [comments] |
Searching for good link sharing (windows -> android) app Posted: 14 Jan 2018 07:51 PM PST Does anyone know of a good app that will open links sent to it on android? sending from windows either by some custom application they have or by a web page or chrome extension? Posted: 14 Jan 2018 08:33 PM PST My kid loves looking at pics on my phone. Pinning the gallery app works well enough for preventing him from running amok. However, he can still run amok deleting and sharing random things that I'd prefer weren't deleted or shared. Any tips on an app where he can view pictures, but not really go beyond that? App to Override Sound Settings Posted: 15 Jan 2018 05:49 AM PST Hi, I'm looking for an app that will allow me to effectively choose certain apps that will always override my sound settings. Here's an example - for my job I have a messaging app that regardless of whether my phone is in silent or vibrate mode, I want it to behave like it's in 'sound' mode and always play an audible notification. I haven't been able to find anything like this, but I'm sure it has to exist. [link] [comments] |
I can't find a web browser app on Android that has the features/options I want. Posted: 15 Jan 2018 09:21 AM PST I have been trying different web browsers over the past few weeks on Android. However, each one I have tried lacked one feature/option that I want to have. Here are the things I want in a web browser:
Here are the ones I have tried: Chrome: It is a fast web browser, and does have plenty of features. However, there is no option for a adblocker, and the no remove cookies on exit. Brave: It is very similar to Chrome, and it includes a built in adblocker. Like Chrome, there is no removing cookies on exit. Firefox Nightly: I tried the nightly instead of the stable since this one includes the Quantum improvements. Almost everything I needed was in this browser, but LastPass refused to autofill with this web browser. Firefox Focus: This browser is very good about privacy and speed, but lacks functionality, such as multiple tabs and bookmarks. I haven't tried many of the other browsers on the Play Store, but instead of trying out each one individually, I wanted to hear suggestions from the community. I'm looking forward to trying out any browsers mentioned! [link] [comments] |

[DEV] Import SMS & MMS from Windows Phone app Posted: 15 Jan 2018 04:50 AM PST Hello guys, Maybe someone is looking for a solution to import his SMS or MMS messages from a Windows Phone to an Android Phone. I have one: I've made an app which helps you import your SMS and MMS messages from Windows Phone to Android. It is called 'Import SMS from Windows Phone'. Import SMS from Windows Phone it is free and has no limit for the messages which can be imported. It has no Ads. It imports only SMS messages. You have to export your messages from Windows Phone using either 'contacts+message backup' app or 'Transfer my Data' app on your Windows Phone. Simply copy the .vmsg/.msg (exported files from Windows Phone) into your Android device and the app will search for all the backup files. You can select from which numbers you want to import your SMS messages or you can import them all at once. You can find the app on Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smsbackup.leonardocezary.smsimporter Import SMS from Windows Phone PRO is the paid version which imports also MMS messages, group conversations, automatically validates invalid .msg files exported by the Windows Phone. It also has a feature which exports locally your messages (both SMS and MMS) in a .html file so you can view/have your messages outside your phone's messaging app. (will be readded soon). You can find the PRO version on Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smsbackup.leonardocezary.smsimporter.pro Feel free to contact me on with any questions related to this app and the import process. Here is a tutorial on how to export on Windows Phone and how to use the app: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4eOVeh9960 Thank you! Have a nice day! [link] [comments] |

Flashing Light Alarm for Android Posted: 14 Jan 2018 12:30 PM PST Hello Reddit, I'm trying to train myself to drink more water throughout the day and am looking for an alarm with no sound since I turn the sound off while I'm at work. I want to set an alarm every hour or so which just makes my phone flash. Is there such a thing? Any suggestions? Thank You! [link] [comments] |
Looking for a heavy duty keyboard app. Posted: 15 Jan 2018 03:51 AM PST I'm traveling for a couple of days and I'm trying to pack light. No laptop. Unfortunately I don't get along too well with the keyboard software on my Galaxy S5. It helps to turn the auto correct off, but I feel the entire app is working against me, particularly in horizontal mode which is the mode I use it in most frequently. There's dozens of 'lists' online for different keyboard apps, but none really compares them. As a result I have no idea what to get. Has anyone here encountered anything particularly good for heavy usage (as opposed to short tweets or text messages)? [link] [comments] |
