Google Play Music "Downloading Now" notification Posted: 17 Jan 2020 12:28 PM PST On Pixel 2, Android 10.. I frequently seem to be getting a notification in the shade that shows an arrow incoming (like when I'm downloading an app) and the words "Google Play Music Downloading Now" for 3-4 seconds, then it vanishes. Anyone else seeing this and/or explain? [link] [comments] |
Issues Downloading Google Camera Posted: 17 Jan 2020 04:53 PM PST I'm trying to download the Google Camera app on my Motorola G7 phone - I can download the file and start the installation process but it fails everytime. I have enabled installing unknown apps so that shouldn't be the issue. I've downloaded a bunch of different versions and none of them work, all failing the same way. Any other ideas to try? Posted: 17 Jan 2020 09:17 PM PST The phone was bootlooped, i factory reseted it and now it says "encryption unsuccessful". But its still able to access the Android Recovery. No computer can detect my phone, i cannot flash it. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Jan 2020 06:11 PM PST Hello, I wanted to know what these weird folders on my internal storage are Monitor and ispdbg Inside ispdbg are these really weird files What are they? Am I being spied on? This is a new phone, same exact phone I had before but old one broke, with an SD that had all the old files copied over and admittedly that one did have a weird hiccup where there were tons of weird files showing too on the SD. What do I do??? [link] [comments] |
Is there a place we can go to more efficiently clean up the Google Play "Library"? Posted: 17 Jan 2020 12:20 PM PST So I was looking for an App I thought I had gotten from Google Play several years ago. I went into the Play Store, Into My Apps, and then into the Library to see everything I had ever downloaded. There I am greeted with every app I've ever downloaded. After checking for the App I was looking for I decide to clean up the list so that I only have the apps I am likely to download again so that hopefully this issue is quicker to mitigate in the future and maybe re-install some apps or games I liked but removed for one reason or another a while back. The problems I found are that you have to click to remove the app, then ok that removal, then wait for the list to update. All of this is cumbersome and very time-consuming. I was hoping there was a better method to do this cleanup. I couldn't find it on the Google Play website. I was hoping for something that would allow me to select multiple apps and clear them all out at once. Is there some way to do this either with a different app, a specific website, or whatnot? Any help, ideas, or insight would be very useful and most appreciated. [link] [comments] |

What is the worst UI made by an OEM? Posted: 17 Jan 2020 03:44 AM PST I really think UI is important when buying a phone. What should I avoid? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Jan 2020 10:04 PM PST Genuinely curious even if the answer should be obvious. What kind of info? Internet speeds or possibly more concerning passwords? data/com.coloros.wifisecuredetect./cache/scan_wifi_info/wifi_info.txt Edit: OPPO a9x (China model used in Canada) [link] [comments] |

Block Apps by Name from Google Play Store?? Posted: 17 Jan 2020 01:52 PM PST Is there a way to block installing certain apps (by name) using Android 9 Pie or Samsung One UI? There is something called Enterprise MDM but that's execessively complex to setup. I just want to block certain apps without going through the loops of Parental Control that limits entire categories? Old Google weather alert notification every time I reboot Posted: 17 Jan 2020 10:18 AM PST I have a Galaxy S10e, currently experiencing awful RAM problems because of the Android 10 update, so I'm rebooting daily. After each reboot, I get a tornado warning notification dated January 10. Going to notification settings shows it as the "Miscellaneous" category from the Google app. I tried Clear Cache and Force Stop, and it still happens. I tried swiping it away, and clicking on it, but it still happens. How do I get this notification to actually be dismissed? [link] [comments] |
Why am I not able to search for emojis on samsung keyboard? Posted: 17 Jan 2020 02:44 PM PST Some time ago, I had gotten my new Galaxy J7 Crown and I was pleasantly surprised to find an emoji search feature on it. One day, I went to type something into the search bar, and with even a single character the search came up empty saying "No results found" where the emojis would be? How can I fix this? Best place to buy new, older models? Posted: 17 Jan 2020 08:10 PM PST I want a Note 8 but brand new, what's the best site to look them? Unlocked of course [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Jan 2020 07:56 PM PST I have very bad ADD and sometimes I just while doing homework I need to use my phone to look stuff up or do online work but getting texts and snaps distract me so I need a way to turn off all notifications. I know that I can individually turn off notifications one by one but there's gotta be an easier way so when I'm studying I can just instantly turn everything off. I'd rather not have to go into my notification settings and one by one turn off every single thing before I study then after have to go back and try to remember which ones I need to turn back on. Lock screen notifications - Any way to have them expanded by default? Posted: 17 Jan 2020 11:46 AM PST link to what i'm talking about: https://i.imgur.com/jkI0tyU.png Pixel 4 on the left, Pixel XL on the right. notifications on the right are listed out as an actionable line item, but on my Pixel 4, the notification is just a single little icon. i have to swipe down to display notifications, so if i want to tap reply, i have to first swipe down from the top. is there any setting that i can toggle to have Pixel 4 lock screen notifications act like they do on my Pixel XL? i've gone into Settings > notifications on lockscreen but everything is basically the same. thanks in advance. Posted: 17 Jan 2020 12:50 PM PST Is 10% overnight normal? That seems bizarre coming from an iphone 5s where it's about 1%, especially when the 3a has almost 3x the battery size (after 6 years' degradation). I have tried everything I can think of including: Airplane mode Bluetooth, wifi, data, location, etc. off No syncing Closing all apps Going through every app and optimizing for battery Battery optimization in settings on Am I missing something?? How can I make sure the apps are displayed in their original language in my phone? Posted: 17 Jan 2020 10:55 AM PST It's so annoying as a non-native English speaker to have to endure nonsensical app translations. How can I make sure the apps are displayed in their original language in my phone? Currently I'm on a Galaxy S7, Android 8.0.0 [link] [comments] |

Looking for an Android Launcher for simple secondary phone Posted: 17 Jan 2020 03:00 AM PST I was wondering if anyone knew any launchers for Android that would work well as a backup phone. I use an iPhone as a daily driver and carry around an Android for certain apps and for testing and as an international sim. I was just wondering if there are any launchers out there made for using as a secondary device, maybe with more simple UI? [link] [comments] |

Any way to cover up ear piece speakers to avoid dust getting in them ? Posted: 17 Jan 2020 04:13 PM PST So on my Samsung A50 i notice some dust gets inside the ear piece grill. Like inside so it's impossible to get out. It's the metal kind with holes not like a mesh that apple uses. I was wondering if there was anything that is sold or can be made to use as some sort of cover on the ear piece to protect it but still make it possible to hear sound ? Thanks. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 17 Jan 2020 03:33 PM PST I have a Xiaomi redmi S2. System Android 9 PKQ1 I am testing YouTube kids app on my son and trying to pin it (without it he could easily just go out of Yt kids and turn on normal Yt or any other app like my bank app or simply call someone). I tried searching answer and Google says I go to settings/security/advanced and turn on pinning. There is no "advanced" in there or I am blind. I know it is a thing because some app for kids I tried (pretty stupid, pointless app) had pinned itself as default setting. I need help, so I can sometimes give phone to son without worrying he will call my boss or something like that :P [link] [comments] |
