[DEV] I just released my first game!

    Posted: 01 Nov 2019 05:34 AM PDT

Hello fellow Redditors! I am proud to announce my first game named "Geo Realm" which is now available on the google play store!

The unique selling point of my game is that you build your empire in the real world instead of a fictional map. So you and your friends can conquer castles in real cities set in a medieval timeline. You earn soldiers by walking around similar to the Pokemon Go mechanic and can take over castles of different players.

The game is fairly new and made all by myself. This brings you the opportunity to take part in the ongoing improvement process. I'm very depended on user feedback, so if you guys wanna give it a shot, it would mean the world to me.

SMS app that let multiple active users

    Posted: 01 Nov 2019 11:48 AM PDT

Hello. I'm looking for an application similar to Pulse SMS that let multiple user access the SMS on one phone but with the possibility og having more then 75 active conversations. Currently, Pulse limits the amount of conversation that we can see on the computer to the latest 75. I'd like to be able to see all of them on my computer, anyone have something in mind?

Also, if it would be possible to text to a group as individual messages, that would be nice too. So far, when I send a group MMS, it gets sent individually, but when the person responds, there's nothing reminding me of what the original message was?

    Unattended remote access app

    Posted: 01 Nov 2019 11:27 AM PDT

I have one of those "tesla style" headunits that runs android 7.1.1 and even has touch screen a/c controls. I am trying to find a remote access app that I can use from my pc or android phone to change the air/heat/defrost and such. When I remote start the vehicle I have my hotspot power on and my radio automatically connects. I have looked into the usual suspects like TeamViewer and such but every one I look at requires an acknowledgement on the remote end to connect the remote session. The only ones that don't do this, like scrcpy, have to be on the same local network. This does not help as I can remote start my vehicle from anywhere and frequently do before leaving my desk at work so it is warm/cool by the time I get to the parking garage.

Is there anything that I can use that does not require the input on the remote end?

    Alternative for Google Lens

    Posted: 01 Nov 2019 10:20 AM PDT

Hiya everyone! I'm planning to get the Google app (the one which has the Google Assistant, the Google news feed and Google Lens baked in) off my phone but the only thing stopping me from doing that is Google Lens.

I use it only for recognizing text off of documents and copying it for using it in other apps. Can anyone suggest an app that has similar functionality?

    Samsung Apps update.

    Posted: 01 Nov 2019 09:47 AM PDT

    Hi pleople,

I Have samsung a note 9 (Snapd), last security update ROm/Zto, and noted thas samsung apps, is not in the last versions, when I checked in galaxy store no more updates, but some users, have newer verson then me, and could be with ohter roms like vivo, claro. On site apkmirror, I can see that are a lot of apps, with newer than I have. I tried to update an app by apk file, for ex. app notes, with new features, and worked fine, but, on other app like write PDF, not worked the same solution, the last version avaliable on galaxy store, for my phone, works fine, but last version avaliable on apk mirror (newer), not runs, needed to uninstall, and there are a lot of newer versions, but this newers not works.

The problem is others apps like, camera, gallery, photo editor, or other app, that can not be uninslalled, have new version, but if I have a problem, will not be solved, and i´ll need to factore restore, (lot stressing). i dont have root yet (in warranty), then, I would like to know, if is possivel to test newer version, and if have a problem is more easy to go back original version?

    Thanks,

    Tarcisio

    Note apps with collapsible paragraphs?

    Posted: 01 Nov 2019 09:42 AM PDT

I've tried different note taking and Todo apps, orgzly, markor, simplenote, dynalist and others I don't remember, but I've not found something like this.

I need something with nested and collapsible lists, so that I just see an index and then I click on something and open items inside it ... But not just for lists... for paragraphs of text, maybe with a basic formatting..

I need full text search and a standard format (or a easily exportable format)

For example, I may have a notebook regarding Android apps, opening it I see a list with "maps, notes, tools" . Inside tools I see Syncthing and Termux , then each one may have a page of text regarding it. Then another notebook for household items or work stuff ...

Orgzly is quite similar but doesn't allow multiple notebooks.

Markor doesn't have collapsible paragraphs and full text search seems not working (weird, it should)

Most notepad apps have no possibility to collapse and / or nest items...

Most list apps may nest and collapse, but don't deal with different notebooks or text longer than a list item

    Any suggestions?

    Good offline, non-idle games

    Posted: 31 Oct 2019 12:06 PM PDT

So, the title pretty much says what I want. I'm tired of those games where you have to be online to play. I'm also tired of those idle games. I want something that I'm actually playing rather than just managing.

Racing, FPS, action, adventure, whatever, as long as I have to do something more than tap here or there.

What do you guys have for me?

[DEV] An alternative for This American Life Android app

    Posted: 01 Nov 2019 07:49 AM PDT

    Hi everyone,

After a long time suffering the unstable offical TAL app, one day I have decided enough is enough and wrote my own app for TAL listening. My app is free and have supported for online / offline episode listening.

    App features:

    - Provide recent episode list and all episode list.

    - Listen episode online / offline.

    - Bookmark favorite episodes.

    - Track all seen / unseen episodes.

    - Notify new episode automatically (can be turned off in Settings).

    - Auto-resume from the last point you were listening when open a episode.

    - Listen to a random episode ("Lucky" feature).

    - Support DARK MODE

App name: Podcast Player for This American Life. Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.utils4u.podcastplayertal

The app is fairly new and has only basic features. I would like to hear everyone opinions in order to improve my app. Thanks all.

PS: It is the best if you can rate and review the app, too. Please be kind, I wrote the app in my free time, and I am sure it still has some bugs. In case it is crashed, instead of leaving a negative review, you can send feedback to me directly (use the send feedback feature in app, or send to the email in app description). I will try my best to respond for all of your demand and suggestion.

Help me please! I've been searching a lot for a good photo eraser app but all I've found till now are background eraser apps

    Posted: 01 Nov 2019 03:34 AM PDT

Most of the "remove object" apps I do find have always got a common flaw: In any attempt to paint on/around whatever I want to remove results in additional removal of pixels in the form of multiple thin lines across the entire image that show up very clearly after rendering. So I start with '720p resolution quality' images and end up with '240p resolution quality' images.

This is making me question if such a simple task is somehow not possible to do on an Android device.

    Looking for a customizable calendar

    Posted: 31 Oct 2019 03:08 PM PDT

I am looking for a calendar app that also tracks events with symbols. Color coding is not really enough because I manage several different calendars for my writers group, projects I'm working on with others, etc.

Plus, the things I'm wanting to track aren't really events. They are simply things rhat happen. So recently, I realized there's a connection between my menstrual cycle and my seizures (I have epilepsy). I wanna keep trying to track that to see if that's an accident, or if that pattern is consistent. So while I use Epilepsy Journal to document that and there's an in-app calendar, and I use Eve for my periods/ovulation and there's an in-app calendar, there's no way to integrate them together.

And if I were to add it to a google calendar, I just can't think of what account I'd possibly wanna add them to. Plus, I'd want each thing to have its own color and or symbol. Like a period could be a red line over the days, ovulation coukd be a green circle, and a seizure could be a black square. Something to determine the pattern at a bird's eye view without having to click on the event to see the details about it.

At first I was thinking Google calendar integration with my other stuff, but honestly it can be its own app. Like...just medical events or whatever.

Hope this makes sense to someone! Thanks.
