| Posted: 04 Nov 2019 06:33 PM PST I have a custom built desktop PC. It has an MSI motherboard with an i7 CPU. Previously I had two ASUS monitors connected to the motherboard's Intel Graphics ports. One monitor is connected to the HDMI port and the other is connected via an DP-to-HDMI cable, so that each monitor is connecting using its HDMI port. So even though I built the PC last year, the monitors were several years old. I just replaced both monitors with a pair of VA2456-MHD monitors. They are still both connected via the monitor's HDMI ports. They work great, but the primary monitor wont sleep. When I lock the PC, it shows the lock screen for a few moments and then both screens go blank and the power indicator turns from blue to amber. (As expected) Here's the problem. A second later, the primary monitor will seem to wake up (screen blinks) and the power light goes from amber to blue. After a few seconds it goes amber again, and the cycle repeats itself every 5 few seconds. My Windows version is up to date, all drivers are up to date, and there are no faulty devices showing in device manager. The Viewsonic driver is loaded for both monitors. I've looked through the settings in Windows, in the Intel Graphics app, and through the OSD menu on the monitors. I've been touch with Viewsonic and they are clueless. I'm thinking it's a Windows problem because if I change which monitor is primary in the display settings, then that is the monitor that will exhibit the problem. I have a video of the problem if I didnt describe it well. I've google searched and cant even find anyone else have the same problem. Anyone have any ideas? [link] [comments] | ||

My phone connects to the hotspot and will recieve notification from my apps, but whenever I go to any of the apps nothing loads. I've tried to figure it out, but with no success so far. | Help: Language problems after the last update Posted: 04 Nov 2019 01:23 PM PST It's the first time ever that i'm having problems after a windows 10 update... If anyone could help me i'd be grateful. I searched around but i'm incapable of finding a working solution. Basically i have 2 problems. I'm using 4 languages input methods, English, Italian, Croatian and Greek, I have an international keyboard layout. 1) The first problem is related to the default input method, I'm using english regional settings but i've always used croatian as default imput method. Now, it keeps reverting back to english and there is no way i can't keep it on croatian.. 2) The second problem (that is pissing me of way too much) is that i cant put the grave accent on letters any more as i used to. When i used ctrl+alt+ 7 the grave accent went in the memory (it wouldn't be written immediately) and as soon as i pushed a letter it would get attached above it. Now, after the last update i can't find a way to do the same thing. The grave accent is typed immediately and it appears as this "`e". I'm really have no clue how to change this option. | 4K video recovery recommendations? Posted: 04 Nov 2019 03:08 PM PST Sup lovelies, I had quite a few 4k videos recorded from my Note 9. I moved them over to a USB, to unfortunately have the USB get lost. I know with Recuva, I can restore previously lost/deleted videos from SD Cards and Hard Drives. Unfortunately, the 4K videos auto save to internal memory, so they never made it to the SD card. I've seen some of the 1080p variants of the videos I recorded, so there's a trace. Unfortunately Recuva cannot restore from something without a drive letter. So, is there any way to get around this? Or a good app for me to recover the lost videos? I tried the basic/free version of Dumpster, and it shows thumbnails from the videos, but that's about it. Any help would be appreciated, thank you! [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 03 Nov 2019 11:40 PM PST i have a school laptop, named Lenovo 300e running win 10 education, and around 1 week ago, my keyboard and mouse input stopped working entirely so i had to rely on the touchpad screen entirely, and when i now booted it up for the first time in a week, i had a working keyboard, but no mouse, but thanks to knowing how to troubleshoot, i went into device manager > mice and only had one input device, HID device exactly... i had to install the drivers to the touchpad as they were deleted somehow... why and how can this occur? extra question, also every time i boot my laptop, a BUNCH of CMD windows pop up running commands, how do i disable those commands from running or see exactly what they run? | New PC build running Windows 10 will not sleep and desktop keeps changing Posted: 04 Nov 2019 08:51 AM PST A couple weeks ago I built a PC so not totally sure if I should be posting here or /r/buildapc however I think these are Windows issues I'm having. First issue, the PC will not stay asleep. Right after I completed the build it had no issues. Now I can put it to sleep and it wakes back up before I've even stood up from the desk. As far as I know no settings have been changed preventing it from sleeping. Are there any settings I should check into that could be causing this? Second issue, I'm running dual monitors and had set a separate image for each. The computer keeps changing both to the same image. Oddly it is changing it to the image on the secondary monitor, not the primary one. Regardless still frustrating. Any thoughts on these? I've tried looking into these issues but most results are very old or really not the same situation. Windows waking does seem to be a common issue however I haven't seen any real solutions to it.
