Posted: 03 Nov 2019 11:39 AM PST I'm not sure if I'm the only one because the adaptive brightness on my brand new One Plus 7T Pro is absolutely abysmal. It goes black when it shouldn't and is clearly not working as it should. I turned it off and kept brightness to my liking but I'm really unhappy with how this has been implemented on this phone or is it only my device that's having this issue? [link] [comments] |

| Oneplus needs to fix their ambient display Posted: 03 Nov 2019 12:11 AM PDT I've been using oneplus phones since the OP3T. My previous phone was the OP6, and now I've just upgraded to OP7T. One thing that's for certain, is that the ambient display is still crap. On my OP6 I just disabled it first thing, and since it had a fp scanner on the back, it wasn't that big of problem. But now that the FP scanner is on the front, it really sucks, since using the ambient display is more or less necessary. Yes you can double tap then scan on the lockscreen etc, but it's not an extra step. Ambient display is 1. Unpredictable, stops working, doesn't working when tilting sometimes etc 2. No useful info, should me more options 3. Stops working in low lightning Oneplus needs to get their shit together with ambient display / always on display [link] [comments] |

However, it seems like this only works with the face unlock. Does anyone know if this is possible to do this with the fingerprint sensor instead? This disabled paying in stores with Google pay. Yesterday I relocked my bootloader and wiped my phone following the instructions here https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/how-to/t-mobile-6t-to-international-t3888307 I then installed 9.0.17, then 10, then factory reset again. It's stuck on the animation with the red dot and the 2 white dots turning around it. Since updating to this, mine takes forever to load up on my car screen (Seat Leon, 'Full-link' system). I used to experience this with various custom ROMs and when I went back to OOS Open Beta (Android 9) it instantly fixed it with AA loading in a matter of a few seconds. With Android 10, it is taking several minutes. I've tried wiping Android Auto storage and wiping cache but it still the same. Quite frustrating if I need to use my sat-nav. [link] [comments] |

| Rooted 6T - Question about the update procedure for Android 10 Posted: 03 Nov 2019 12:31 PM PST I've got a rooted 6T and regular updates on Pie were never a problem. I updated with the following procedure: Install OTA without reboot. Install TWRP retention script via magisk downloads. Install magisk to the inactive slot. Reboot. This was always successful but since Android 10 is coming near and some may have it already, I'm asking if the procedure can be done like this or do I have to do it different since we're switching Android versions here. | OnePlus 7t pro vs OnePlus 8 pro Posted: 03 Nov 2019 07:21 PM PST I have some interest in this phone to replace my trusty op3, but am a bit confused by OnePlus's marketing strategy. Initial leaks show the op 8 pro as having a punch hole camera vs the popup camera in the op7t pro. Except the 7t pro is not available in the US except the incoming McLaren edition, which is crippled by TMO. I have mixed feelings about a punch hole camera. Not crazy about curved screens either. But I don't care for the round camera module on the 7t and would like a 3x zoom too. Darn compromises! What do you guys think about the popup camera vs the punch hole camera? Also, I'm kinda interested in the 5g aspect too. I tend to keep phones for 3-4 years. Think the 8\pro is worth waiting for? [link] [comments] |

| Need help moving from Open Beta 2 to A10 stable on 6T. Posted: 03 Nov 2019 07:02 AM PST So I'm on the Android 10 open beta 1 right now on my 6T and I'm wanting to move over to the A10 stable build that's starting to roll out. I'm going through the process of backing up everything on my device currently, but I'm confused about the specifics of how I should go about this. Do I need to... A) downgrade back to stable pie and then use Oxygen Updater or wait for the OTA for A10 stable? B) skip the downgrade and use Oxygen Updater to go directly to A10 stable? I still haven't seen the update as an option in Oxygen Updater and I don't even know how I'd go about downgrading since this is my first OP phone. Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated. Thanks. Edit: beta 1 not 2 Edit 2: /u/femorian's instructions worked for me. I backed-up everything just in case but after following the instructions it all worked without any data loss.
