    Posted: 28 Oct 2019 05:48 PM PDT

Heyho Reddit i have a problem with BSOD after i turned yesterday my Game Boost in Bios on i only get Blue Screens i turned it already off but this didnt fixed it i already tried to fix it over with a USB-Stick with an ISO (Rufus and Windows Media Creation Tool) to fix it but before i can enter it it crash same for the Secure-Boot or Repair-Mode i already turned out my SSD and only left my HDD in same reverted changed my RAM and after that it fixed it i tried to format my SSD/HDD dont care about the files but now when i turn on my USB-Stick i get the same BSOD

    BSOD Error/Codes:

    CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED

    SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

    SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

What i tried already to fix:

    - Turning Gaming Boost back to Off

    - Entering Repair Mode (crash before i can enter it)

    - Change RAM / only put 1 in

    - Only have HDD or SSD connected

    - USB-Stick with Windows Media Creation and Rufus (tried both crash before i come to the windows setup)

    - Reset Bios to Default settings

    - Secure-Boot

    - Format HDD and SSD (so no windows is installed)

but i still get this error and dont know how to fix it and im mostly now frustrated bcs every tutorial i find shows me how to fix it when i get to Windows but i cant enter it hope you have some ideas to fix it or what can cause that error before that the PC was running smoothly without any crashes or problems

    Windows 10 updates fail

I am getting the 0x800703f1 windows error code when I attempt to update windows 10. Below is the specific parts that get the install error. I've been in contact with microsoft support and the initial technician didn't help and set up a call with a level 2 but that isn't for over a week and i can't play any games with my pc the way it is right now. I can't update my drivers due to this and I've tried almost all solutions I can find on the internet, does anyone have any ideas?

    Transferring Windows 10 Pro Licence

    Posted: 28 Oct 2019 11:54 AM PDT

My old computer doesn't seem to be working any more. I haven't QUITE pinned down the reason why, but that's aside the point. My dad gave me a windows 10 pro license and I ran that on my old computer. Now, however, id like to transfer it to my new pc. I glanced through multiple online websites and forums and couldn't find an easy answer on how to do so. Now that my old PC is dead, it might make this harder, but is there any way to transfer the licence through Microsoft or some other method? I have my old PC registered on microsoft, but I cant seem to figure out how to transfer it through them.

    I don't want speech recognition!!

    Posted: 28 Oct 2019 04:34 PM PDT

I have made sure in settings that speech recognition is not turned on and it does not turn on at startup. But randomly, while I am using my PC in a fullscreen program, at least once per day, I get minimized with an annoying popup "Welcome to speech recognition!" prompting me to set up the program. Is there any way to stop this?? Is this some shortcut I'm accidentally pressing? I can't find a solution anywhere and I've been on Google for a while.

    Application suddenly became tiny

I've been using my photoshop application for around 2 weeks and it was working perfectly fine until today when it suddenly glitched and opened up in a really tiny window:

    really tiny??

its still fully functional, and all my other apps are working perfectly fine. Does anyone know what to do? I am running Windows 10 on a dual booted MacBook Pro.

Looking for a file which its download link doesn't work anymore

    Posted: 28 Oct 2019 04:03 PM PDT

I want to invert/flip my screen. Not rotate, just how it's like in a mirror. The intent of doing this is hardly understandable for people without having "knowledge" of the game I play. Anyways, I've heard of a file called pvcmirror.zip, it does the screen inverting job, but the download link for that doesn't work anymore, so I wanted to ask if anyone still keep the software. I know there are alternative methods of inverting the screen, but most of those are hardly infeasible for me.

I can't assign that space to any disk. It was a RAW partition, then I deleted it.

After updating to 1903, I can't move apps to another drive.

    Posted: 28 Oct 2019 08:15 PM PDT

It just gives me the error "0x80073d0d." I'm not really sure what to do now.

Need help with Fortnite Voice Chat

    Posted: 28 Oct 2019 08:03 PM PDT

I've had a problem with no voice chat for the past 5 weeks. Basically, my discord, skype, CSGO, you name it works perfect for voice chat, NO problems. On fortnite, my mic icon won't even show up. (Yes, fortnite voice chat is enabled). I have checked and made my mic my default device and disabled all others. I also deleted Regedit stuff and updated all my drivers, but still no luck.

If anyone knows how to get even the mic ICON to show I would be grateful.

If this helps, I have Nvidia Soundcard and its fully updated and I have a steelseries keyboard with a razer mouse and a logitech headset. Not that any of that matters, but maybe it does.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Font I installed not showing in photoshop

    Posted: 28 Oct 2019 09:53 AM PDT

I'm using windows 10 and photoshop 2019. I am trying to install a font and it doesn't show up in photoshop. I drag and drop the OTF font in c:\windows\fonts, and I even restart computer, but it doesn't show up. When I double click the font to install, it installs in c:\users\fonts\appdata\local\microsoft\windows\fonts and still doesn't show up in photoshop.

Picture of the paths they are being saved to on computer -

    https://imgur.com/XrUwsVw

    My questions are -

    1) what are differences between these 2 file paths for installing fonts?

    2) how do I properly install fonts in photoshop.

Windows uses up so much memory for background processes that you cant see, how to change?

    Posted: 28 Oct 2019 07:34 PM PDT

Ok, so ive been on windows computers my entire life, and I like to think I know what im doing. However, recently chrome has been "crashing" (not enough memory to open this error) but thats not what I'm here for. My laptop has 16gbs of ram, and at peak times chrome uses around 7gbs of that, which is fine and good. However, one thing I notice is that 1) the computer seems to bonk out and stop wanting to use more ram at around 13 gbs used, which is odd to say the least, I suspect some hard cap in chrome for memory usage. once again not the problem, I can figure out how to fix that.

One last note: Ive been using intel XTU to check total memory used and cross refernced this with task manager to get these numbers.

HOWEVER, here's where the problems start to come in: at current (because odv chrome just crashed from memory overdose) windows is using around 7-8gb of ram. however, according to task manager, chrome (the only thing using a worth mentioning amount of memory) is using around 2gb. So here's my question: How in the name of the lord do I get windows to stop having a memory dick measuring contest with fucking chrome? Im entirely positive it doesnt need 6+gb of ram, hell it says minimum 4gb and many other operating systems require much less then this. Thoughts?

Make website link direct me to new browser

    Posted: 28 Oct 2019 02:49 PM PDT

Hi, I have a Firefox problem that Windows may be able to solve. Firefox is my default browser because Chrome absolutely destroys my computer. However, I cannot see removeddit.com at all on Firefox, no matter how much tracking protection I remove. However, I can see it on internet explorer (yeah, ew). Is it possible to make it where clicking on removeddit.com.... links automatically open in IE instead of firefox?

Edit: The link is removeddit.com, I said the wrong link.

    Xbox App error (0x409) 0x80131509, now I can't install

    Posted: 28 Oct 2019 07:43 AM PDT

The Xbox App was returning the above error when I first tried to use it. On the recommendation of several threads, I was told to use Powershell to remove the app, then re-download it from the MS store. Well now the MS store says I already have it but It's gone from Apps and Features. However, if I type Xbox into search it comes up. However clicking on it does literally nothing. No process gets launched, no feedback or response. Yes I did a restart.

At this point I am fresh out of ideas. I created an account solely for game pass and I can't even manage to use that.

Edit: Feel I need to add that using powershell to remove it, then re-downloading it from the store didn't work. Felt that was clear from the body of the post, but evidently not.

    Windows 10 - Bugged Search Multi-Monitor

    Posted: 28 Oct 2019 09:11 AM PDT

So I have 4 displays on my machine and if I try to search (clicking the search icon) it brings up the search menu only on the main display. If I open the start menu on a secondary display and start to type it goes to the search menu on the main display. Is this a bug or a setting somewhere?

    Blue Screen Windows Setup

    Posted: 28 Oct 2019 09:14 AM PDT

    Hello,

I'm trying to install Windows on a new SSD off a USB. I've done this multiple times before, but this time around I'm getting a blue screen (no text, cursor is responsive).

    Basic sequence of events:

    -Plug in USB.

-Power on laptop. (USB is already set to highest priority boot)

-Windows Logo for a few seconds

    -Blue screen with responsive cursor

However, when I disconnect the SSD, Windows Setup comes up properly, but of course, there isn't a drive to install on when I do this.

I've also tried using a CD/DVD but the laptop won't boot to the setup despite having CD/DVD boot as top priority or manually selecting to boot CD/DVD first.

    Any tips?

Can't update the latest cumulative update for windows 10 (KB4517389)

    Posted: 28 Oct 2019 07:05 AM PDT

As the title says, I cant download and install the latest update, I get the error "0x800700c1". I tried to troubleshoot it but it says it can't find anything wrong. I tried running the "sfc /scannow" in Command prompt but windows can't start the repair service. I've also tried "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" but it says it's not a valid win32-program. Idk what to do.

Who created this unofficial Windows Longhorn system sounds?

    Posted: 28 Oct 2019 06:02 AM PDT

    https://youtu.be/HlH4ZCVyP8U

I remembered those days of transforming Windows XP with transformation packs, mysstyles, replacing shell32.dll to get custom icons etc. These sounds above were know as from Windows Longhorn builds, but that's not true, there isn't any Longhorn build with them. Anyone knows a piece of information of their origin?

    Thanks!
