[Opinion] Reviewers place way too much weight on the camera when reviewing phones Posted: 28 Oct 2019 09:00 AM PDT Something I've noticed as the reviews for the Pixel 4 have started to come in is that a very large portion of most reviews is spent talking about the camera. This seems very strange to me, at this point pretty much all high end phone cameras are good to very good and I think most people don't really care if their phone cameras are 1% closer to DSLR quality than their competitor. I think this comes down to most reviewers being way more into photography and videography than the average person(especially youtube reviewers). I'd much rather have them spend more time talking about battery life or UI changes than colour balance or lens angles. Does anyone else agree with me? [link] [comments]

Will enabling RCS change anything when communicating with iPhone users? Or non RCS enabled users? Posted: 28 Oct 2019 12:00 PM PDT Perhaps I'm not getting something, but the way I understand it: 1) Both users must be RCS capable, otherwise messaging resorts to SMS 2) iMessages is not RCS capable Please correct me if I'm wrong on either of these. But if I'm right, doesn't this mean there will be no difference at all in the way I communicate with iPhone users or other Android users that don't have RCS enabled? Thanks in advance, just trying to understand why this is so exciting if it doesn't address my biggest issue (messaging iPhone users). [link] [comments]
Gboard saves your clipboard data even when clipboard is disabled Posted: 28 Oct 2019 05:54 AM PDT It happened multiple times. I always remove it from the bar, but sometimes I press the three dots button and the clipboard button by mistake and all my last copied things are there. When closing the keyboard and opening it again, clipboard shows as disabled. Try avoid copying sensitive data. Why is the point of having a hide toolbar shortcuts button if you have to press it every time when opening the keyboard? [link] [comments]

Posted: 28 Oct 2019 09:32 AM PDT Could there be an implementation using the squeeze function in the pixel 4 to bring down notification pane to replace the fingerprint swipe down gesture? Maybe a combination of squeeze and screen input? [link] [comments] |
