Is there an app that can stop a caller from only leaving voicemail but not the call itself. Posted: 09 Jan 2018 04:38 PM PST Example: I'm an occasional teacher and an automated system will call me throughout the week offering me jobs. If I send it to voicemail, it just leaves the same message, and fills up my voicemail. Any of you folks have any tips? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Jan 2018 05:38 PM PST Im using a Samsung Galaxy S5 with a SanDisk Ultra 32GB SD card. A couple of days ago, I was filming a video when I got a phone call, so I stopped the video recording but while in the Camera app, I pressed the pick up button. After a 5 minute conversation, I ended the call and went back to the Camera app, only to find it was a black screen. I ended the Camera app via the Active Applications menu and tried to open the Camera app again, only to find it once again was a black screen. Not thinking too much of the situation, I restarted my phone and once it restarted, I got a phone notification saying "Unsupported SD Card - This device doesn't support this SD card. Touch to set up in a supported format.". Pressing the message directs me to format the SD card, which I don't want to do because I have photos and videos in there that I would like to retrieve. I've tried putting the SD card into two other S5 phones, both report the same message. I've tried connecting the phone to a computer but the computer won't recognize the SD card, only internal storage. I've tried putting it into a USB SD card reader and into my tablet's SD card slot and none of these will recognize the card. I've put other SD cards into these two and they work fine. Is my SD card bricked? EDIT: I should add that I have NOT backed up my data, which I should have (lesson learnt), which is why I am not formatting the SD card until I can retrieve the data first somehow. If you screen-record someone's Snapchat story on Android, will they be notified? Posted: 09 Jan 2018 07:41 PM PST Im not sure if this works for iOS as well, but if I'm using a screen recorder while viewing someone's story, will they get a notification? [link] [comments] |
Restoring LG G4 from Google Drive Backup Posted: 09 Jan 2018 07:17 PM PST I was forced to do a factory reset on my LG G4 to fix a recurring issue regarding cellular signal. What I'm struggling with is restoring my settings, apps, etc from Google Drive. I'm looking at the Backup I made earlier today, dated so, but it doesn't seem to want to restore itself. I'm at a complete loss as to how I'm supposed to restore ... anything. The LG/Android backup/restore feature is telling me there is no backup. I am pulling my hair out here with frustration. EDIT: Android versions 6.0 [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Jan 2018 07:15 PM PST I've restarted my phone multiple times but it still doesn't work. The screen works (camera works, screen lights up when restarted) and the charging LED turns off when the screen is on and on when the screen is off (as normal) Whenever the lockscreen is on screen its black and I can't unlock it. It was raining today so it could be from water damage but is there a way to fix it? [link] [comments] |
Can I have everything silent except phone calls? Posted: 09 Jan 2018 02:59 PM PST Currently running Android 8.1.0 on my Pixel 2. I have my phone on "Do Not Disturb - Alarms Only" right now, so everything but alarms are silent. However, I would like to also have incoming phone calls vibrate. Is there any way to do this? I've tried putting the phone on vibrate, but there seems to be no option to turn off vibration for each and every app that I use. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Jan 2018 04:31 PM PST Managed to unlock the bootloader with no problems but now I can't run adb devices (or "adb reboot bootloader" which returns "error: no devices/emulators found"). I've turned off Developer Settings and then turned them on again. I've reinstalled the drivers. Nothing seems to work at all. "fastboot devices" in CMD prompt returns a string of text (letters and numbers) along with the word "fastboot". Can anybody help me? Thank you. [link] [comments] |

Android 8.1 show Bluetooth headphones battery percentage somewhere easily accessible? Posted: 09 Jan 2018 10:58 AM PST Is there a way to see my Bluetooth headphones battery percentage in the quick settings tiles, status bar or somewhere else accessible instead of having to go all the way to Bluetooth settings menu? Thanks [link] [comments] |
Switched recently. Texting has odd quirks? Posted: 09 Jan 2018 11:13 AM PST Hey everyone! So I recently switched to a Samsung Galaxy S8 after being with apple forever. So far I'm very happy with my purchase (At the very least I have a headphone jack now) and I've been getting to use the new phone slowly. There are few things I'm confused on though, and bear with me since I know next to nothing about this stuff. So any video I send over text seems to be too big even if it's really short and th quality always has to be cut to pieces. Im pretty sure i sent videos on my iphone no problem is that just because iPhone uses iMessage so it can send bigger messages or something? And I think this is kinda the same issues but when I text people sometimes it sends their messages in fragments and sometimes it even sends those fragments out of order. I don't think this is a size issue though because when I receive a really long text message I can click on it and it takes to a different page to see the full text? Is this an issue with my provider or the phone? Is there some way to fix it? Any other advice for a new android user? Thanks in advance for any help I get! [link] [comments] |
How to hold app notifications to come in at certain times? Posted: 09 Jan 2018 05:42 PM PST Hey all, I'd like to stay updated on email and GroupMe and messenger etc but I don't want the notifications to come in real time and constantly ping my phone. Like, instead of getting every email or every message as they come in, is there an app that will hold them all until say 3pm and 6pm and throw them to me then? I hope this makes sense as I describe it. [link] [comments] |
Leaving "Do Not Disturb" mode puts me into vibrate mode Posted: 09 Jan 2018 05:37 PM PST LG G6, Android 7.0, with a scheduled "Do Not Disturb". If my phone is on silent before going into DND, then when DND finishes it goes into vibrate. I want it to restore whatever setting it was on before, even if that was silent. It's the same if I manually toggle DND on & off. Is this just crappy design by Google or LG? [link] [comments] |
Is it possible to create a FAT32 partition out of my tablet's storage and use it as a flash drive? Posted: 09 Jan 2018 05:29 PM PST Basically what the title says, I want to plug it on an old smart TV and the only format it accepts is the good ol' FAT32. I'm in a tight budget right now and don't want to spend money in a flash drive, but I have a 64GB tablet with lots of unused storage. I'm on Android 7.0 and I do have root/TWRP access. I know it's possible to mount bootable ISOs on Android, so I guess creating a virtual FAT32 partition isn't really that far. I might be wrong, though... [link] [comments] |
how to hard-reset the native clock/alarm app? Posted: 09 Jan 2018 02:58 PM PST Hello and thank you for your time. I have a Kyocera Brigadier, with Verizon. As of maybe three or four days ago, I have a 'ghost' alarm, it doesn't go off and I can't delete it. On my lock screen it shows an active alarm for midnight of whatever the following day is. Unlock the phone, it's definitely still there on my home screen. This is the app, it's just called 'Clock.' I don't think you can get it from the play store anymore as the default clock is now one from Google. The app version is 3.0.3 and my Android version is 5.1.1. This final pic is just to prove that no, I do not have a repeating alarm for midnight of every day. I have tried going into the app manager and force stopping this app, clearing its cache, and disabling it. I was at a point that I could not set any alarm at all, I had shut down any access I had to an alarm function. The ghost remained. During this time of shutting down this app, I went and got the new Google clock app. Messing around in the new app didn't affect the ghost alarm. I've since removed the Google clock. Thanks again for reading my issue. I'll definitely report any additional details you may need. [link] [comments] |
Email not working on Samsung S8 Posted: 09 Jan 2018 05:02 PM PST I entered the email addresses I want to have in my email, and set notifications for when I get them. When the email I was expecting didn't show up, I checked my laptop, and the email was on it, but not on my phone. Why are only some of my emails being shown on my android? (Edit: I have msn and yahoo) And, in the meantime, I installed Outlook on my phone, but would prefer not to have it. [link] [comments] |

Looking for a free forensic analysis program that I can run on OS X. Anyone have any ideas? Posted: 09 Jan 2018 08:29 PM PST Hi. I'm trying to find some form of forensic software I can run on my Mac that will let me poke around an HTC Desire 530. A couple years ago I got into iOS analysis as a hobby. It's fun to explore and see what can be done. I had a trial of Oxygen Forensic Suite a while back...that was awesome. I ran it through a virtual machine running Windows 7, but I'd really like to use OS X if I can. So, I have my GF's HTC That has a cracked/unusable screen, and I want to explore it and try to recover some of her data for her. I'm just a little lost with the Android side of things. If anyone can point me in a good direction, or maybe even recommend a better sub for me to ask, I'd really appreciate it. Even if there's a good free program for Windows, it take that as a back up. Thanks again :) [link] [comments] |

Media volume not reverting to 0 after disconnecting Bluetooth? Posted: 09 Jan 2018 11:12 AM PST I'm on a OnePlus 3, Lineage OS, Android version 7.1.2 and just recently I've noticed that my media volume is not reverting to the previous state (in my case, 0/mute) after disconnecting bluetooth. It's led to a few occasions of videos/music blaring loudly when accidentally starting them after disconnecting to my headphones/car. Is there a fix for this that I'm missing? I've tried rebooting a few times, and haven't made any updates or changes to my system recently. [link] [comments] |
Phone keeps pausing media/crashing apps Posted: 09 Jan 2018 04:08 PM PST Hi there. I'll get to the point. Here recently, my I'll be in the middle of playing a song on Spotify or watching a video on YouTube, and for whatever reason, it'll randomly pause and I'll have to press play a few times before it finishes. I've also noticed this happening to videos on twitter. And sometimes I'll have WhatsApp/other text based apps running in the background and they crash without warning. Any suggestions? I've tried just clearing the cache/data but this doesn't really seem to do anything. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Jan 2018 04:00 PM PST screenshot I have an S6 and this location changed pop-up appears about once every minute. I've looked all over and couldn't find any solutions to make this notification go away. Any help appreciated! Thanks! [link] [comments] |
