    Samsung S9 or Samsung A70?

    Posted: 29 Oct 2019 02:15 AM PDT

Both are currently similarly priced and I'm not sure which one to choose, the A70 charges faster and has a bigger battery (4500mah) and screen (6.7") but has a notch and smaller resolution. The A70 has a inscreen fingerprint which I heard is dodgy af. The S9 has wireless charging and USB 3.1 compared to the USB 2 speeds on the A70. S9 is 64GB while A70 is 128GB. A70 is newer compared to the S9, so I'm assuming the S9 is not gonna get anymore updates? (Almost 2 years is up) I also assume the S9 is easier to repair. Both offer a headphone jack but I'll be buying galaxy buds anyway. The S9 has water proofing. My biggest question is the S9 supports Google Pay as Samsung Pay does not work in my country. I don't need dual sim from the A70. The S9 is also faster I believe but has less ram? I need a phone for the next 2 years anyway as this is a billpay contract. Thanks /r/Samsung.

Samsung FindMyPhone just helped me track and recover my brothers phone

    Posted: 28 Oct 2019 05:19 PM PDT

So my brother calls me in a panic that he can't find his phone (S10+), I said let me see if I can track it, I log on to Samsung track my phone and start tracking it. He hops in the car with a friend of his and I told him not to go alone. I give them periodic updates and then the phone stopped at one house and hasn't moved for 10 minutes. I immediately told him the location they went over and asked the dude and I think he got scared that someone actually came to find him and he did not expect that. He went in and gave some fake story about how someone found it and left it with him. Anyway he gave the phone back with a nervous and shaky voice and I'm glad to say we got it back. Looks like my brother also learned a lesson on how to be careful and not leave your phone unattended.

    Good thing:

    The GPS was on.
The Phone was on (can't turn it off when its locked without unlocking).
    Data was working/on.

Feeling relived we got his phone back.

Galaxy device is randomly sending text messages after update. What can I do to fix this?

    Posted: 29 Oct 2019 07:53 AM PDT

My galaxy device (s10e w/ Verizon) is choosing a random contacts and texting them. The phone updated at around 3am and texts started sending out around 6am. The texts were "*thank you" and "good morning, how are you feeling?".

I use this phone and number a lot for business and would much rather try to fix this than switch messaging apps.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Samsung Galaxy A40 not vibrating

    Posted: 29 Oct 2019 04:54 AM PDT

I don't know if this is the right sub, but I had this phone for a few months now and it did not have vibrations. When I bought it I remember it did vibrate, but it stopped. I checked all the settings and nothing helped. Today there was a software update on my phone and it vibrated when I was typing a message, but it stopped after a minute or so. What is happening? Can I fix it?

OtterBox or similar for the Note 10?

    Posted: 29 Oct 2019 08:16 AM PDT

The guy who sold me my S6 also strongly recommended an OtterBox and I'm glad he did.

Does anyone know of something similar for the Note 10? I just bought one and I'd like to be able to use it for nature photography as I have the S6, but the cases available were flimsy.

I'm in Argentina for a while so my purchase options aren't the same as in the US.

I did buy insurance FWIW :-)

    Phone Cases

    Posted: 29 Oct 2019 08:08 AM PDT

Where do you buy your phone cases? Are there reliable websites? I want to buy a new phone case for my S9+, but I don't like the designs I see in my local phone accessories stores so I thought I'll look online. I want a durable, but good-looking one (not clear or plain). I'm afraid that the pretty ones I see online would be of bad quality. I would like recommendations on where to look. Thank you!

Do you use a case/skin for Galaxy Buds?

    Posted: 29 Oct 2019 07:57 AM PDT

I got my Galaxy Buds this June. As it was summer at the time, I wore cargo shorts and had a separate pocket exclusively for my buds. Now that it's getting colder, I have to wear jeans, meaning that I have to put my buds in the same pocket as my keys, wallet and a metal pillcase (other pocket is for phone). Since this started, I've noticed several scratches and white spots where the paint has rubbed off on the cradle for my buds.

I can live with scratches, but is there a chance having them in my pocket with my keys and stuff could actually damage them? Do I need to get a case (I found a few on Amazon) to protect them? I don't mind scratches, I'm just concerned that they'll actually be damaged somehow. I realize this is kind of a minor issue. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Samsung Galaxy S5 Won't Boot

Yesterday my dad's work phone shut off and now only shows the image below when I try to boot it up. Is there a way that I can get his phone working again without wiping the data (it contains confidential work info)?

Please note I am not a prolific Android user so detailed explanations would be appreciated!

Does anyone know what this is for ?

    Posted: 28 Oct 2019 02:18 PM PDT

I had an SD card in my phone before it crashed, my computer won't let me export without my phone being unlocked. My phone is on it's way to Samsung right now, so I can't access it. What do I do?

    Posted: 29 Oct 2019 05:02 AM PDT

My phone started a reboot cycle and wouldn't stop. I tried every solution I could find, but nothing worked. The only solution US Cellular could do was factory reset, so they did (I couldn't access anything in my phone, it just said to reboot to factory settings). They completely erased everything before I could back up through my Samsung account (no I didn't back anything up before and it was stupid not to). All I had was an SD card, not 100% sure everything was backed up on it but I want to check.

I plug my SD card into my computer, but my computer says it can't access it and to make sure my phone is unlocked and receiving notifications. Even if I still had my phone I couldn't do that, because it was stuck on black screen. But now I don't have it at all and I don't want to have to wait until I get my phone back to check. Is there anyway that I can get around that? Idek if this is the right place to post this, but I need some help. Thanks!
