| Since Android 10, the Pixel Launcher has been restarting a lot... Posted: 29 Oct 2019 03:53 AM PDT I'm not sure if it's a full crash as I don't get an error but what does happen is that the screen goes black and comes back immediately. Happens in two areas.. 1) the home screen 2) using the search box. This is the most annoying because it will happen as I type and close I have tried clearing out the cache / data and it has not helped at all Anyone else experiencing this? Oddly enough, when I click on this the results are displayed in Fahrenheit. Google results suggest that this is fixed by changing your preferred temp within Google's own settings, which has not helped me in this case. Is there a setting option that I'm missing? They are scanned by ESET mobile sec but "no threats were found". am I worrying too much? | Problems making adaptive storage on Galaxy S7 Posted: 29 Oct 2019 09:06 PM PDT Adoptable* Hello, as the title suggests, I've been having trouble turning my SD card into an adoptable storage device on my Galaxy S7. It's not an option at all in the general settings, but I quickly found out Samsung has disabled this on most of their devices. From there, I followed this guide on how to enable it using ADB, which seemed to have worked out okay. I followed the instructions and everything to a T, and I got no errors upon reaching the final step ('reboot'); however, upon the phone reboot completing, its seems as if nothing has actually happened, and that the SD card is still trying to act as a non-internal memory source. So, that being said, my question is can I get this to work using ADB (maybe I'm just doing something wrong?) or do I have to go all the way to rooting my phone just to get adaptive storage to work? I'm running snapdragon, so rooting is out of the question unfortunately. Thanks [link] [comments] |

| Old messages being sent instead of real-time ones. Posted: 29 Oct 2019 05:10 PM PDT Before, a set of messages weren't received by my device. But now every time I receive a new message from that person, I just get sent the old messages that should have been sent. Now, every new message is just the old message in the "queue". I have AT&T if that matters, but here's the issue: Something has happened to my phone traffic. The main symptoms are that I cannot receive MMS pictures and cannot listen to voice mails UNTIL I either restart my phone or activate airplane mode then turn it back off. It's like the carrier traffic needs a constant reset. MMS pictures will just load forever, and voicemails will never play. But after I do airplane mode and then off again, they will both work right away. I've tried various google result solutions but none worked. I've also tried several factory resets on my phone, but did not resolve either. What the heck? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 29 Oct 2019 04:24 PM PDT I fell asleep with my phone on around 2 weeks ago and when i woke up my home and recent apps button were not working. Notifications wouldn't show either. The only button that worked was my back button. I've been using that to get back to my home screen. Also I can't send pictures on my message app but I can send them on things like discord. Downloads/updates won't work either they only say download pending but never get past that. Anyone know how to fix this it would be much appreciated. [link] [comments] |

| Using samba on linux server for android box shares Posted: 29 Oct 2019 02:53 PM PDT I have been hunting around to see if its possible to use my centOS samba server as storage for my android box hooked to my TV. This would negate me having to add an external drive for storage instead. Is this possible? So far I have only seen apps on google that work but only for as long as they are running. Would be nice to have my android box boot up and auto connect to the shares and then be able to record from TV to those shares. Is this possible? Posted: 29 Oct 2019 11:01 AM PDT I have ran into an issue while using my note 10+ that I didn't have prior to this no headphone jack thing all manufacturers are gravitating towards. I purchased a pair of bluetooth headphones(SteelSeries Arctis 3) and I can't for the life of me figure out how to make the headset microphone work with apps on my phone. It is always using my phone microphone instead, this is very annoying, I can't seem to find any answers through Google searching either. I have looked in my phone settings and I dont see any options for choosing input. If I plug a usb headset in through an adapter it recognizes the microphone automatically and uses it instead. My problem arises in that I need to use the USB C port for other things. How do I use my bluetooth mic instead of my the phone's built in microphone on a Samsung Note 10+ I can't seem to make it work in any apps. | Video that I really need disappeared Posted: 29 Oct 2019 12:14 PM PDT I've been having a really bad day, everything going wrong, and then i also got into a car accident. I have this app on my phone (quick video recorder) that I use during situations like this, it takes videos incognito in the background without it being shown on the screen, so that it can just look like im holding my phone and people around me won't get uptight, i use it in these situations just in case. So I got out of the car talked to the guy, and we both went back into our cars to get insurance info and stuff, but when i did that he drove away. Luckily with the app i recorded his license plate. So I went back home, i joked with my self that the day has been going so bad that the video probably isn't there. So I opened up my phone to see the video, and it actually was there, and there was a shot of his license plate, i decided to transfer it to my PC through USB connection and try to get a better picture of it, I couldn't find the file through my PC, so I disconnected and tried to see where it was on my phone again, but i couldn't find it anymore, it disappeared. I tried falling guides online that said to clear the cache, so i did both for the gallery app and the quick video recorder app, but it didn't work. | Custom Firmware for a Huawei Mate 8 NXT-L09? Posted: 29 Oct 2019 08:22 AM PDT I bought this phone as a gift for my wife. Her old phone's starting to show it's age and the specs all looked pretty good. Aluminum chassis, Gorilla Glass 3 screen, all the internal radios to work on the U.S.'s AT&T network. Seemed like a good buy. I quickly checked XDA to see if there was any Custom Firmware and at a glance there seemed to be some support(SEEMED to be). Long story short, after spending the last two days and 12+ hours trying to find and install any form of custom firmware, I can't find anything. Every link I've checked has been taken down or expired. I can't even find reliable stock firmware links and Huawei itself has zero support. Can anyone give me a hand here? The phone is currently on the NXT-L29 EMUI 4.0 and Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It's on the wrong model's firmware because a thoughtful, though apparently careless uploader mislabeled their files. I've got the SRK Tool and I've already unlocked the bootloader. The only Custom Rom I've found that's still active is the OpenKirrin, but that inexplicably requires being on EMUI8 before flashing, which I can't upgrade to. [link] [comments] |
