| Leaving the Apple Ecosystem to join the Samsung Ecosystem �� Posted: 04 Dec 2021 02:16 PM PST Hi r/samsung redditors 😊. I recently traded in my Apple iPhone for a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3. As a gift with purchase, I received the Galaxy Watch 4 in the 40mm option and have been loving them both for the past 3 weeks! Great customisation and freedom to design the phone/watch the way I like. Up until now, I have been a part of the Apple Ecosystem. Starting with an iPhone 10 years ago, I added on more Apple products over the years, such as the MacBook Pro, Airpods and iPad and Apple Pencil. In the past year, I have managed to install Windows 11 on my early 2015 MacBook Pro using a Samsung 500GB portable SSD. I enjoy the Windows experience and don't use MacOS much anymore. I have recently found a deal on a brand new Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 64GB Wifi in Angora Blue for half price from the local Samsung store and bought it. As a result, I am thinking of selling my iPad 7th generation (2019) model and completely going Galaxy 🤓. I would like to know if anyone else has experienced the big move from Apple to Samsung by replacing part of/the majority of their electronics. If so, how did you find it? Posted: 04 Dec 2021 11:21 AM PST I recently changed the theme of my device using galaxy themes and I really like it, especially the custom design of the apps. However, not every app has a custom design and so they are changed to just having a white box around the original icon. Unfortunately this is the majority of the apps, so I have entire pages of white boxes and it doesn't look very good. Is there anyway to customise which apps are affected by the theme and which aren't? Because I would really love to keep the new design of the apps that it does work on, and just have the other apps look as they did before, without the white box around then. Can't imagine this being something that Samsung hasn't thought of fixing, since there's probably not a single theme that has a custom design for every app you can have. [link] [comments] | ||

I was listening to music putting up some xmas lights on the railing and the sucker wiggled out of my ear. Also any recommended replacement tips that don't slip out so easily? | How are y'all feeling about the buds lineup? Posted: 04 Dec 2021 11:14 AM PST Are the galaxy buds not customizable enough or are my ears weird? I had a pair of jlab earbuds that were a bit on the heavier side so I had to use some memory foam eartips to get them to stay in. When I bought my new phone I got a pair of buds pro to go with it. The fit of the buds pro was atrocious. Didn't even stay in my ear for long even if I was sitting completely still. I even tried the put the left bud in my right ear and vice versa trick, still didn't work. So I returned those and got the buds 2. Buds 2 fit way better but they are "loose". I wear them, can walk around, exercise, and go crazy and they don't fall out. But there's a feeling of "looseness" that I always get after a while and I eventually have to push the buds back into my ears. I've tried the large, medium and small tips w/medium fitting best, but the problem is still there. I'm debating returning the buds 2 and trying to find a pair of buds plus with the wings. Cuz one of the best fitting buds I wore were a pair of phaiser buds with wings. Do the wings help that much with fit? I wish Samsung just came out with a pair of buds pro with wings. I really wanted the air vents and at least decent ANC without feeling suffocated like with my old jlabs. Should I hold out and wait for galaxy buds pro 2? Posted: 04 Dec 2021 09:31 AM PST I replaced mine yesterday 'cause my previous one had two big circle marks that obstructed the screen (and that one was supposed to be a replacement protector for the one I had for a year and a half, which broke when my phone accidentally skidded on a plate) I made sure for the guy who applied it to avoid any dust and bubbles both on the screen and on the protector itself. The only downsides are the "halo effect" on the corners (but no big deal since most of it is small), and a little crook on the top right corner of the screen (I've started to get used to it though and it's not that big of a crook anyway). | Samsung Galaxy S21 Doesn't Come with a charger plug "to cut down on e-waste" Debunked. Posted: 03 Dec 2021 04:00 PM PST So my partner just got her Samsung Galaxy S21. Which currently retails for £769.00 or $1017.75 for you guys in the states. And it has no plug but did come with a cable which wouldn't be an issue if it was a USB to USB-C but it's USB-C to USB-C. Perplexed by this I decided to look online and apparently this is to curb the rise of E-waste. And I'm here right now to call bullshit on this. If this was really to curb e-waste as they say then why did they; Include a cable incompatible with the past generations of phone chargers? List their charger plugs as a separate purchase? is £769 not enough for something that will lose value over time? Before anyone says anything similar to this sentence. "Oh you can spend $1000 on a phone but not $20 on a plug" Why should I? $1000 is more than enough money to be spending each year. Think of it this way also, if there's 1 million Samsung Galaxy S21's without chargers, then that's 1 million phones that need a charger, I guarantee they haven't curbed E-waste, they have made it so I now have to have 2 items shipped/transported to my house with more Co2. First my phone, then a charger, and for anyone who doesn't want to spend an extra $20 that leaves an excess of supply which will in turn be thrown into landfill. This is something that Apple would do. IF I had never owned a USB plug of my own with a USB to USB-C cable this phone wouldn't be able to be charged period (unless of course I pay the carbon tax which in fact raises more carbon than reduces.) | Slower than 1/30 Shutter Speed in Video Pro Mode Posted: 04 Dec 2021 02:18 PM PST Has anyone gotten less than 1/30 shutter speeds in videos? I have an s10e, 10sec video shutter speeds are a thing on the note 10 lite apparently, and 24fps recording is a thing in video pro mode. What gives? If I need to use 3rd party apps, I'd do it. Additionally, if you go into the pro camera app and use lower than 1/30s shutter speeds, the preview becomes laggier and brighter which makes me believe the Phone can do it. I was thinking of getting him the S20 FE but I heard the S21 FE was coming out soon so I wanted to know if I should wait and get the S21 FE later, get the S20 FE now, or maybe get an A series phone. My problem is the terrible compression that takes place when I try to share it through WhatsApp specially. | Dissapointed with Pro Book 360 Posted: 04 Dec 2021 03:57 PM PST Samsung had a great deal on the 13" i7, 16GB RAM, 512 SSD for $940.49 and I got a Rose Gold Galaxy Watch 4 for my wife for only $37.49 as a bundle deal... Which included a $110 trade in deal of my old Note 8 which was just taking up room in my sock drawer... I have a Dell 9370 2-in-1 4K, i7 (10th gen) w/16GB RAM, so I was thinking the Pro Book 360 could be its replacement... I was so terribly mistaken on so many different levels... I was pretty shocked. The Dell is SO superior to the PB 360 in almost everything except weight, keyboard backlight brightness and S-Pen... The 16 x10 screen on the Dell makes for a huge difference, that giant bezel on the chin of the 16 x9 PB 360, just is so disapointing. Plus the brightness is noticibly dimmer on the PB 360. Also, the lower screen resolution is VERY noticeable to me as compared to the Dell's and even my S7+. The finish on the PB 360 (Mystic Navy) is the worst fingerprint magnet I've ever seen, after an hour the finish looked like a cloudy mess with only light handeling. The webcam is so laughably bad it's comical. The Dell's isn't great either but it's way better than the PB 360's. The S-Pen is fantastic. As an S7+ user and a 30+ year Graphic Artist, I honestly think it's the best stylus on any platform. The Dell's pen is good, just not as GREAT as the S-Pen. I ended up getting a return on the PB 360, which brought my wife's watch price back up to $200 and killed my trade-in discount... Which was understanable. If Samsung could make some adjustments to the screen size ratio and make it the same resolution as the S7+ (and 120 Hz) and put some sort of coating of the body to reduce fingerprints, I would definitely consider buying it again. Posted: 04 Dec 2021 01:38 PM PST TL;DR: Can anyone else hear the brushes if you put your ear up to the Galaxy Z Flip 3 hinge while opening? OK. I had to return my first Flip 3 because it had a divot right out of the box. It also, and I didn't even know this was an issue until I got the new one, wouldn't fold all the way flat. I convinced myself that was by design so that maybe it would break in over time. I dunno, I figured it was supposed to be like that. Now the new one was making this crunchy noise when I closed it that was audible at arms length. That has since gone away, but in the process of trying to break it in and get rid of that sound, I noticed you can hear the brushes inside the hinge if you put your ear up to it and slowly open it. I don't care about this so long as it's not just mine doing this because you can only hear it if you listen for it. But, I just want to make sure there's not something coming loose in mine that's not supposed to be. As you can see, I have had some issues/bad luck so far. [link] [comments] | ||

I had expected a quality boost compared to a TV because it's a monitor. But it has a feature I find very useful, that it remembers my devices that had wirelessly connected to it. | Make Samsung TV Programs Listing Guide Update Automatically? Posted: 04 Dec 2021 11:51 AM PST I have a 2021 Q7 Series QLED that came with the solar rechargeable remote that eliminated the numbers on the remote. If I press down on the channel rocker button (versus pressing forward or backwards), the guide that shows the channels and what shows will be playing for the next three hours pops up. This is very useful but it is often not updated/refreshed when I open it. I have to go back to the regular viewing mode and manually slowly browse through all of the channels in order for the TV to download the program data. After that, I can go into the guide and all of the listing will be updated. Is there any way to force the TV to update all of the channel data at once? It would be even better if it would do it automatically for me behind the scenes. I have been googling for a long time and can't seem to find any answers for this. Thanks. [link] [comments] | ||

I can see from the playstation that only up to 60hz is being recognised as a frequenecy that can be used on the TV. The ps5 can detect what the screen is capable of and the max is 60hz. I have so far: Made sure I have a hdmi 2.1 cable, using both the one that came with PS5 and also another I bought. They're both 'high speed' Enabled game mode on the TV enabled 120hz on the ps5 tired both 'performacne' and fidelity mode on the ps5 tried multiple confirmed 4k 120 hz rated games Has anyone any ideas? edit - also I am using port 4 on the TV, the supposed hdmi 2.1 port [link] [comments] | ||
