Why ride hailing apps have 2 apps Posted: 04 Dec 2021 06:13 AM PST Why do ride hailing apps like uber, lyft have two applications? One for the driver and another for the commuter. Isn't it easier to manage the role in one app and shorten the deployment process? [link] [comments]
How do you find beta testers before initial release Posted: 04 Dec 2021 08:40 AM PST As the title says. We are all devs here and working on something cool. But how do you find a small group of users (10-50) that are willing to beta test your app before initial release and provide feedback? Are there there places or recommended methods for this. What specifically have you tried? Sorry if this is the wrong place. If this belongs in a another subreddit please point me to it. If another subreddit doesn't exist for this type of question.....well.....let me live a little please because other probably have the same question :) [link] [comments]
Is Android autofill framework completely useless on Web pages? Posted: 04 Dec 2021 02:43 PM PST Hi, Iam trying to build password manager. I can fill inputs in native apps even on web completely fine. But the problem comes when I try to save users credentials. When I try to save user's credentials Iam able to get all the fields from the screen. In apps I usually get 2 fields, bc on login screen (in native apps) there are just 2 text inputs that isnt problem. The problem that web pages (e.g. in google chrome) has more text inputs on login screen, so I get more then 2 fields (usually about 3-4). I try to distinguish fields with field hint, but some web pages dont have english hints, so I try to distinguish fields with I tought i could use That means that Android autofill framework is completely unusable in Chrome or web apps? If this description is too chaotic for you, my question is: How to distinguish username and password field in web apps like e.g. in chrome and how to get not hidden password? Iam stuck on this for a very long time. I will appreciate any help, feel free to ask any question. Thanks [link] [comments]

Do Android Studio & emulator work on (M1) macOS Monterey? Posted: 04 Dec 2021 10:25 AM PST How's your experience with Android Studio and emulator on macOS Monterey, particularly on M1 devices? Is everything working? Not sure if it's safe to update to Monterey. Thanks! [link] [comments]

Confusing inconsistent Gradle build times Posted: 04 Dec 2021 01:46 PM PST I'm having issues with Gradle build times that are almost certainly down to me not understanding Gradle, but I'd appreciate some advice. Here's my symptoms -- Until about a week ago, builds were taking over a minute. In the process of trying to fix another bug I did an clean/rebuild in Android Studio, after which build times have consistently been about 16s -- amazing! However, today they've gone back to a minute. What this seems to align with is adding some dependencies to my project (this is an Android app with a Flutter add-to-app module inside it), after which builds have taken longer. I can't work out what's gone wrong and I've tried clean/rebuilding again, but this hasn't done anything. I wonder if Android Studio is stuck doing a load of Gradle work it doesn't need to repeat every time, but that's just a guess, as said I don't really know what's going on behind the scenes or how to tell. Any insights would be hugely appreciated, thanks! [link] [comments]

Sound design—outlook for specialists? Posted: 04 Dec 2021 08:01 AM PST I'm a sound designer primarily for linear visual media, and recently I've been learning a bit of C# and Unity on the side to expand into game audio as well. I've been wondering if non-game software devs (particularly for mobile apps) typically work with sound designers from parallel fields or if there are specialists out there? I know very little about the project management side of app development, so I also wonder to what extent sound design is even budgeted for? [link] [comments]
Implementing Hot Fixes / Rollback option Posted: 03 Dec 2021 09:34 PM PST I recently made a new version of my game (built with unity) to comply with .aab new policy , and there was an issue in the build that only happened immediately after the update went live and not during development , I found what the issue was and applied a fix ... but now am stuck at review and the version in google play is broken ..... what do you do in cases like this ? ... I can redirect users to other place to download the update but I found in past that sometimes this causes issues (conflict) when a newer version is live on the store and some users have old (not from google play version) in their phones , and I can't see any rollback option in the console . Android app lost connection to backend server Posted: 03 Dec 2021 08:05 PM PST Recently I encounter a strange issue with my Android app. It was developed to connect to my backend server to retrieve data. It's working fine most of the time but every now and then after a few days, it will be like disconnected from my server. When debug with Android Studio, I found it return error
I thought just my app could not connect to server, but the Android browser could not, too. I could use my device Chrome browser to open other websites except my server website. I used an app to ping my server also couldn't reach. It's like my server totally refuse any connection from my Android device, other devices within the same wifi network still can connect to my server normally. I restarted the app many times but didn't work. It can only work again after I restarted my Android device or switch from wifi to 4G network. Some users started reporting this issue, I still don't know what is the root cause, it happened randomly . I don't know it's caused by my app or my server. Is there anyone encountered the same issue ? Thank you! [link] [comments]
Posted: 04 Dec 2021 03:44 AM PST Hey, just created my app with Flutter. Someone want to test its working(push notifications, camera in-app)? App works like: users get push notification in the same moment and take a photo. [link] [comments] |
