Posted: 15 Feb 2019 04:47 AM PST Hi everyone, can anyone tell me what's the best paid cloud service in your opinion and according to your experience. I just run out of the free storage Google gives you so I was wondering to buy new storage ( besides a good hard disk). Can you give me some insight? Edit; I asked a friend of mine who was one of the developers of modded S 3 kernel about his opinion. He substantially said me that Google is one of the most secure. As someone else already suggested probably sticking with Google is the easiest thing, and the fact you can pay it with credits from Opinion Rewards is obviously a plus. By the way I'm treasuring your advises and I'll look to your suggestions before making a choice. Thank you very much for your time and kindness, if someone else has something to say I will be happy to listen. I excuse myself for my English but it's not my mother tongue. Again, thank you for your attention. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Feb 2019 08:18 AM PST TL;DR I have a real first world issue of being annoyed by noisy coworkers and want my expensive earplugs that play music to stop doing that automatically when I have to talk to my noisy coworkers. I work in a noisy environment that drives me crazy. So I bought some Bose Quiet Comfort 30 bluetooth earbuds that have ANC (active nice canceling). They work very well at filtering out the background noise. But, also work very well in filtering out conversations that I have to have to do my job. Since I have to have many conversations about projects Im working on throughout the day, I either have to take them out (booooo!), or make the person awkwardly wait while I pause the audio and click the ANC button about 6 times so I can hear them through the earbuds. I am looking for an app that would sense when I am speaking as a trigger to pause the music, audiobook, or podcast I'm listening to and turn off/down the ANC. Any thing like this available or in the works? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 15 Feb 2019 03:28 AM PST I really love how google now feed works on my homescreen but I got problem when the apps flashbang me at the midnight when I open the Google now. For Canadians: New ECCC official weather app 'WeatherCAN' released Posted: 14 Feb 2019 10:50 PM PST Found while browsing another subreddit, the new weather app is finally released. What do you think? Restrictive "per url/connection" firewall Posted: 15 Feb 2019 10:24 AM PST Is there a firewall app that can allow me fine control over which connections are allowed? the Xposed module Xprivacy allowed that, but it doesn't work on Oreo 8.1. Ideally I am looking for an firewall that will block by default and ask me to allow a connection. [link] [comments] |
ISO: Music player with great playlist support Posted: 15 Feb 2019 06:14 AM PST Can any one recommend a music player with really good playlist support. It should be easy to create/edit lists, duplicate them, reorder, etc. Bonus if you can set it to play one song at a time (turn off auto advance). [link] [comments] |

Can I manually get SwiftKey to correct words I constantly type incorrectly? Posted: 15 Feb 2019 12:25 AM PST I'm constantly typing certain works wrong. SwiftKey doesn't do a good job of realising this. I often hit space at instead of N, or I hit A instead of Shift. Is it possible for me to program an autocorrect like in ms word, so when I type something incorrectly it will correct it for me automatically? [link] [comments] |
Thin Browser? Shortcuts on homepage open as a "webapp"? Posted: 15 Feb 2019 09:06 AM PST Is there a lightweight (optional) browser app which homepage short cuts are opened as a standalone "webapp"? No address bar, tabs or anything Say rather than have a weather app, I just have a shortcut to a weather website instead. [link] [comments] |
Ability to record live video feed? Posted: 15 Feb 2019 08:57 AM PST Hi, I am looking for an app which can record video and audio from a video source I am viewing on my phone. I have a YI home camera at home and I can connect to it and works fine with my phone (Pixel 2 XL). App I am looking for must be able to record the video (with sound) to the phone's memory remotely as I am viewing the camera, even google drive if possible? Quick google search didn't reveal anything, so I wanted to check here too. ;) Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Get Samsung system wide search inside of Nova launcher Posted: 14 Feb 2019 08:32 AM PST I posted this on r/galaxynote9 but maybe this could be useful to some folks here. For those of you who use Nova prime launcher, l just realized that you can go to Nova settings > Gestures > pick a gesture > then go to activities and look for "Finder", this way you can have Samsung's search inside of Nova, which works kind of like Sesame, only it's free. This is my setup, just to give you an idea. When I press home on my homescreen, I get good old regular Nova search with Frequent, Recent and New/Updated tabs. As we all know, this one's great for the particular app search. But when it comes to system wide search of anything, I just double tap on my homescreen which takes me directly to Samsung's "Find Search", now I can search for contacts, videos, whatever. Nova activities is just such a powerful thing. Now, other OEMs have their version of search so this could be theoretically applied to other phones as well, you just have to find that particular activity. While I was writing this, I just realized that I could just pull down the quick settings bar and press little magnifier icon to get same result.... well, I'm gonna leave this anyway, maybe it will at least spark discussion about Nova activities. I'm gonna go to r/galaxynote9 and edit my post. This is embarrassing. [link] [comments] |
Markdown Editor with Live-Preview Posted: 15 Feb 2019 04:20 AM PST After a lot of research, I can't find any Android Markdown editor with live-preview (and I mean in the same screen, not in a second screen or after pressing something). A feature that can be found for instance in Windows software like Typora or Mark Text. Does anyone knows about any app able to do that? I hope there's something I'm missing. Thanks. Best news app with notifications? Posted: 15 Feb 2019 07:37 AM PST Hi! I have been using the app "tickers" since the beginning of last year because I could choose my own news feeds (all I had to do was grab the rss feed link for a local newspaper and insert on the app) and it had notifications, and I could send those to my wearable (Amazfit Bip, if you are curious). Recently, tickers is not performing the way it should, sometimes the servers are just down and other times the app just won't send notifications. In that case, what app do you recommend to replace it? [link] [comments] |

Grocery List app with a twist recommendation Posted: 15 Feb 2019 05:48 AM PST I currently use OurGroceries+ which is great for the most part. Wondering if There's a grocery list app that allows you to create store specific lists AND a universal list that would display every item on every list. Alexa integration and ability to add pictures are must haves. OurGroceries+ has all of the above except for a universal, catch-all list. [link] [comments] |

Hi I need help finding a black bookmarks widget.. Posted: 14 Feb 2019 08:49 PM PST I currently use the Kiwi bookmarks widget on one of my home screens and it's quite a pain on the eyes and not very amoled-friendly... I've been looking for quite a while for a widget as clean as the Google chrome/kiwi browser widget but with a black/grey background if possible... Thanks ahead of time [link] [comments] |
Can I force apps onto my SD card? Posted: 14 Feb 2019 05:14 PM PST The title says it all. I have a 9 usable GB on my phone, so my dad got me a 9 GB SD card. I was hoping that I coukd finally just download apps without worrying, but instead of being able to use the SD card as an extension of my internal storage, it doesn't work that way. When I tried to download an app, it just tried (and failed, not enough space) to download to my internal storage. I just want to be able to not have to delete stuff every time I want to download an app! Is there any way to have the SD card recognized as an extension to the internal storage? [link] [comments] |
