| Why does xiaomi use the snapdragon 625 so much? Posted: 14 Apr 2018 07:01 AM PDT It's a good processor, it hasn't given me any trouble in my Redmi note 4 that I got last year, and I love it. But there are like 4 or 5 models that use it! I'm planing on getting a new phone this month (because my screen is cracked) and, because of where I live, my options are pretty much limited to the a1 and the Redmi 5 plus, both of witch have the same snapdragon 625 my phone already has. After sending it for repair, the store gave me in-store credit as they could not fix it. But now I'm stuck on buying it from there and the phone is even more expensive than when I first bought it. Shows that they protect the whole screen with camera and sensors cut out in the glass.. but they don't. | WhatsApp not showing contact names Posted: 14 Apr 2018 08:10 AM PDT I finally got my Xiaomi Note 5 Pro, but apparent I've to wait 320 hours to unlock the bootloader, so I decided to use the China stable rom until I can flash a LineageOS one. Everything setups fine until WhatsApp, where it somehow wouldn't sync my contacts with their names. I restored WhatsApp with a backup file on Google drive, enabled permissions for ALL settings, restarted my phone but to no avail, only contact numbers are showed.Anyone have a solution? Edit : Okay got it to finally work. Apparently Google contacts sync wasn't installed, and I finally got one to work with the version here : http://en.miui.com/thread-1109622-1-1.html. However I read that the 2s supports wireless charging with 7,5W, now I accidently bought a wireless charger with 10W but with the same standart like the 2s. Can I use it with the 2s or will it 1. The phone comes with dual tone flash, yellow and white, which is supposed to prevent red eye or something. But the issue is that when I use the torch activating from the quick toggle bar, it displays yellow flashlight. I can't seem to find the setting to change it to use white flashlight. | Posted: 14 Apr 2018 07:10 AM PDT Hello. I would like to upgrade my 2-year redmi note 3 pro phone for redmi note 5 /pro. It looks really sick. But what puts me off a bit are updates. I heard that redmi series won't receive updates so often. We can see it on kenzo after all. Although we have miui 9 but on Android 6, so the best features like split screen or double tap to last app are not at disposal. Also 18:9 screen, I saw somewhere that there will be black bars when watching YouTube or a movie e.g. On the other hand it has everything I want, like great camera, sim/SD card slot, jack... Is that thing about updates true? Or could you recommend me a Xiaomi phone with these features? [link] [comments]  |
